NICOLE

I dragged Luke to an ice cream parlor. He plopped down on one of the booth when I fall in line to order.

"One apple parfait, chocolate sundae, caramel fudge, creamy sansrival, carbonara, and a triple-scooped cookies and cream ice cream." I enumerated everything I ordered to the cashier. She looked at me with shock. I grinned at her.

"Coming right up, ma'am." She smiled as if she's scared.

I went to our table after then.

"Why did you bring me here?" Luke asked.

"To eat, duh?" I joked. "Kidding, to show you how thankful I am." I smiled. Luke is sometimes a great guy. He's very great when it comes to love problems, he's also fun to be with only when he's not moody. "Thank you for being there for me, Luke." I smiled

"Okay, whatever." He shrugged.

See what I mean? He's back to being moody and cocky.

"Jerk." I commented.

"So, when's your order gonna come? I'm starving." I just shook my head at his statement.

"Soon. Hungry, much?" he nodded.

"Look at those two, they look so good together, and the fact that the guy is hot!" some girl commented.

"But the girl needs a makeover." Another girl commented.

"Shut up. Admit it, they look cute together." Girl #1 said.

"Maybe. The girl looks like a nerd."

"But not that typical nerd."

"Maybe she's just her sister. Dare me?"

"Whatever."

After that I could hear the girl walked towards us.

"Hi, I'm Andrea. And you are?" the girl tried flirting with Luke. Luke just gave the girl a bored look and then looked at me with that just-go-with-the-flow look.

"Excuse me, are you trying to flirt with my boyfriend?" I snapped. She widened her eyes a bit.

"Boyfriend? Please. You? Him? Nu-uh." She cringed.

"Now look whose saying!" I huffed.

"Don't insult my girlfriend, okay –" he cut short as he tries to remember the girl's name. "A-An... gelina." Andrea widened her eyes even more.

"She didn't do anything wrong to you so might as well leave, because you don't pass my standards." He added. She let out a bitter laugh and said,

"Right. I don't pass your standards, look at your standards." She pointed at me then stormed off.

"That bit –" I was about to yell when Luke covered my mouth with his hand.

"C'mon Steph, she's not worth it." He smiled. I smiled in response as I tried to calm down.

"Hey, Luke, do you have a girlfriend?" After asking that I couldn't tell if he blushed or flushed.

"No." he said curtly.

"Have you ever had a girlfriend?" what am I asking? Maybe because I want love advices from him.

He chuckled, "Of course! The first and the last."

"Why did you broke up?"

"We didn't." I stared at him blankly.

"Huh?" I raised an eyebrow. "So, it clearly means that you two are still together?" I asked curiously.

"It's complicated. But long story short, we didn't have a closure." He continued eating his parfait. I just looked at him, before continued eating.

"Hey," I looked up to ask what it was,

"Are we friends?" he smiled. But not that arrogant smile. That sweet and persuasive one instead.

"Yeah, whatever." I glared at him but he just smiled back. Why is he so happy? I shook my head and continued eating.

"C'mon, let's go!" he said as he stood up and held out his hand.

"Where?"

"I'll take you home." He smiled.

"What? It's okay. You don't have to." I protested as I lightly pushed his hand away from me.

He pouted. "Why?"

I shook my head in exasperation. "Fine, let's go." I said as I dragged him along.

As we settled in the car, he looked at me deeply boring his eyes onto mine.

"Is there something on my face?" I said as I wiped my face with the back of my hand.

"Wha – no."  He shook his head.

"Then, what?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Where do you live?"

As I gave him my address, his expression quickly changed.

"You lived there?!" He shrieked, eyes wide open.
