"Happy birthday!", a crowd of my friends shouted.

"Oh come on guys.", I laughed.

"It's your nineteenth birthday, no time for negativity.", Brian said and hugged me.

"I just wonder how many 'surprise Parties' I will get."

"Well, til it's your last day on Earth, sweetie", Emily replied and hugged me.

"Oh no, am I late?", a very familiar voice said.

"Oh Mom, you are crazy. It has been only three days since you have been in the hospital.", I said and hugged her.

"I have missed enough birthdays of yours, not this one.", she explained.

I kissed her cheek.

"Can I get one of those, too?", a familiar voice asked.

I turned around and froze.

I saw the tall lightly tanned boy with brown hair and blue eyes I used to love.

He didn't changed much.

"I...uhm... Shane?"

"Jup, it's me. Happy Birthday!", Shane said and smiled.

I was standing there like a rock.

I couldn't believe that someone told him where I am.

"Sorry, I need some fresh air.", I said and went outside.

My eyes became teary.

Suddenly a hand touched my shoulder.

"Are you okay?", Michael asked.

"Not really. I didn't knew you were here.", I said.

"Brain invited me. To be honest, I didn't knew that it's your birthday."

"Well, I am glad that you're here.", I said and placed my head on his shoulder.

"Who is that guy, who you talked to and then went away?", Michael wanted to know.

"It's Shane, the biggest prick I have ever met.", I explained.

"Why? What happened?"

"He was my boyfriend in school. We were happy for a couple of months. He was the only person I could trust since I ran away from home. I was only sixteen and dumb. He just played with me and used me. One day I found out that he was cheating on me several times just because I didn't wanted to have, you know... I didn't wanted to sleep with him. I broke up with him, and told him that I never wanted to see him again."

November 1977

"I never want to see you again. I hate you!", I shouted.

"Come on baby, you didn't wanted to, so I had to get it from somewhere else. What's the problem?", Shane said.

"Don't you call me 'Baby', I was your girlfriend and you cheated every night!"

"So you're really breaking up with me?", Shane asked.

"Yes. I am very sorry that you're too stupid to understand. I can't believe that I have loved you. Look at you! You are just disgusting with all your lies. I will go, so don't you dare to try to find me.", I shouted with tears all over my cheeks.

"I can't promise that. People always meet twice.", he said.

Present Day, March 1980

"And who invited him?", Michael asked.

"I have no idea."

"Come here. We will tell him that he has to leave.", he hugged me.

We went back to the bar and Shane was waiting in a corner.
