LATER THAT DAY Cora and the others had finally made it over to the lockers which were near the skating rink.

"Here it is! Locker 339!" Zuri called out as they all slowed down their pace.

"Okay, I have the combination." Jessie said as she punched the numbers in, everyone watching in anticipation.

Instead of the locker opening, the machine beeped as Cora furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Balance due 25 cents? Does anyone have a quarter?" Jessie asked in a hurry while Cora shook her head with a frown.

"Here, I have one." Teddy spoke up as she handed her the coin while Jessie put it into the machine and turned the knob.

Once Cora saw what was inside her jaw dropped in shock. "Bertram!" They all gasped once they saw Bertram stuffed inside the locker still in his elf costume, an evident scowl on his face.

"What are you doing in there?" Emma asked in confusion making Bertram say, "Trying to keep my elbow out of my gall bladder!"

"Jessie, last night, you were supposed to come right back for me! Why didn't you?" Bertram asked her in confusion.

"Uh, I have no idea! None of us have any memory of last night." Jessie said as they all nodded in agreement.

"It's a long story but let's just say that it was a science experiment gone wrong." Cora spoke, shivering at the remembrance of her being stuck in a couch.

"Must be nice! I spent the entire night wedged inside this stinky locker! I'll never be able to go to the gym again." Bertram said in worry.

"Again?" Zuri gave him a look making Cora quickly cover her mouth with her hand before she said anything else to provoke the man.

"Don't you start!" Bertram gave Zuri a menacing glare.

"Wait, why are you trapped in there? Aw, did Santa give you a time-out?" Teddy teased making everyone laugh and Cora couldn't help but join in as she exchanged a high five with the older girl.

"Jessie, this is all your fault." Bertram said as he began explaining the events of last night, and boy was it chaotic.

When Bertram and Jessie were going to hide the presents in the locker they saw Teddy and Zuri heading their way so Jessie did the first thing she thought of and shoved Bertram into the locker while she hid behind the trash can.
