LATER THAT NIGHT Cora was on her way up to the Ross's penthouse for the big party that Emma had been planning all week.
Cora was normally never the one to enjoy going to any sort of social event but she knew that her being there meant a lot for Emma so she had to push those feelings away.
She did however have the book that Luke gave her in her purse just in case she needed to escape reality.
She would never admit it out loud but the present that Luke gave her had become something that she held close to her heart.
The theme of the party was black and white so Cora had on a silk black dress that fell right below her knees and had a slit near her leg. She completed her look with a pair of black heels and gold jewelry.
As Cora exited the elevator and entered the penthouse, her brown eyes widened in shock at the sight of so many teenagers gathered together which was honestly an absolute nightmare for her.
She quickly took in a deep breath to calm down her nerves before scanning the room in hopes of finding any familiar faces.
As soon as she saw Emma and Zuri waving her over from across the room, she let out a relieved sigh and quickly made her way towards them.
"Oh my god Cora, you look so beautiful!" Emma gasped before pulling the brunette in for a quick hug.
Cora's eyes lit up as she didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around the girl with a huge smile on her face. "Thank you, and you look absolutely stunning!"
As soon as the two pulled away Cora turned to Zuri with a smile, ruffling the younger girls hair before leaning down to hug her as well. "And you look adorable Zuri."
"You do too Cora." Zuri grinned making Cora smile even wider as the two laughed before pulling away, Zuri still holding onto Cora's hand.
Before any of them could say anything else Emma let out a squeal as she spotted Rick a few feet away from them.
"Omg, Rick's coming! Act natural, and be polite!" Emma turned to Zuri, already knowing that the girl would have something to say.
"I can be natural, or polite. You can't have both." Zuri gestured with her arms causing Emma to quickly push her to the side as she noticed that Rick was coming their way.
