The snow turned their noses red and got tangled in their hair. It fell in flurries and danced and twirled until it fell on the ground. It stayed on the ground crunching under their feet.
"This is crazy...." Ginger muttered grabbing a handful of snow, but quickly setting it down because it was ,in fact, very cold.
Ginger had been alive to experience the snow at least once, but she was only four then and didn't take the time to really notice it was there.
There was wind too. It blew their hair around and sent snow flying every and tree branches fell to the ground, but they didn't take the time to notice it.
It was snowing.
It was soft and delicate. It made their cheeks rosy and their finger cold. They smiled.
It wasn't like when it first rained. Henry's nose wasn't bloody and Freddy's knuckles weren't swollen. Now it was like Freddy wasn't going to make that all happen again just about ten minutes ago. They stole glances at each other ,which didn't go unnoticed by Charlotte who was quietly standing by Henry. She said nothing though because she really had nothing to say.
They wind started to pick up more and more and soon they could not see anything because the snow was in their eye's. They were forced to go back inside.
Shaking the snow out of his hair and taking off his damp letterman jacket, Henry looked outside. He couldn't see anything, but faint lights from the other houses. It was a blizzard. Or at least what Henry guessed to be a blizzard because he only ever saw them in textbooks at school.
"We probably won't be able to go home anytime soon." Henry said.
They could hear the wind outside as it screeched on the walls of the house. That was their only warning that the lights were going to go out. Of course they didn't really think it was like that until the lights really did turn off.
There were sounds of footsteps and crashing in the living room and Henry think he heard someone kick the couch. In the corner of the room he saw a light turn on. It came closer and closer until he saw that Aaeesha was holding it.
"This is just not my fucking day." Aaeesha grumbled.
"Are the lights going to come back on?" Julia asked. When she saw Aaeesha's expression she asked,"Is there someplace else we could go."
"We steal electricity from other houses. If it's out here it's probably out everywhere." Aaeesha answered. "Besides we'd turn into a fucking popsicles before we even got to Sallie's house."
"We'll just turn into popsicles here just a lot slower." Freddy said wrapping his arms around himself.
"Shut up shithead!" yelled Aaeesha. "We have blankets."
"How many though! We'd need at least five for each of us!" argued Freddy. "What about food!"
"I've got plenty of good! And we'll find a way to keep warm! We just have to work together!"
"No way am I working with those stuck up twins and my dad's stupid right hand guy! I'm not working with you either! You snobby little..."
"Freddy!" Henry interrupted him. "She's right!"
Freddy paused. He looked down at his toes in defeat and muttered, "Fine."
Henry smiled at him big and wide and as he did this Freddy felt his face heating up.
"I'm going to go check on Oliver!" Freddy yelled leaving quickly.
Sure enough Oliver was awake, but he didn't look up when Freddy walked into the room and he didn't get up either.
"It's hopeless isn't it." Oliver whispered sadly.
"Yeah..." Freddy said rubbing his eyes and sitting down on the couch. He wasn't talking about Oliver's situation, far from it actually.
"You guys drugged me didn't you. That's why my head hurts right?"
"No I just hit you in the head with a vase." Freddy said dryly removing his face from his hands.
"Are you going to kill me?" Oliver asked.
"No." Freddy said flatly.
"Why not I'm the enemy right?"
"No, your not the enemy."
"Then who is?" Oliver asked standing up.
"I don't know." Freddy sighed. Oliver stood close to the wall as not to fall over.
"It's God Republic isn't it? No, it's you Dad right?"
"Shut up." Freddy snapped glaring at him.
"So I'm right. It's the Minister. You hate your own Dad."
Freddy grabbed Oliver's collar and slammed his back into the wall. Freddy had barely made it ten minutes before he wanted to beat someone up again.
"Why are you here anyway? You seem pretty normal to me."
Freddy scoffed.
"That's none of your business." he said letting go of Oliver.
"You're probably just trying to get Daddy's attention, huh?"
Freddy decided he couldn't stay in the library anymore, so he went into the tattoo parlor, where he fell asleep
