Chapter 8

(Hope)

When Jasper pulled up, my spirits turned, he had a soft smile on his face and he waved to me as I got up and got into the car. I wiped my face of tears and smiled weakly, Jasper sighed and asked,

"What's wrong? You seemed really upset when you called me earlier."

"I told Mark about Amadrya and he didn't believe me. He also accused me of cheating when I said we were together, but how can he expect me to close myself off until God knows when. I had not even decided to move here until recently. You and I would have probably been together and either way we would have broken up." I lowered my voice as I continued.

"When I started to turn, however, he tried to grab me." I said angrily.

What kind of a boy does that?" He replied, making my voice soften.

As I looked up, I saw Jasper was looking at me with gentle eyes.

"Jasper, I thought he would react so differently. I truly and really did like him. I hoped we could have been together but it was not meant to be. And how am I meant to know if I made the right choice."

"Hope, it's not your fault darling." Jasper pulled me into an embrace as he ran his hands through my hair.

"He didn't deserve you if he expected you not to live your life." Jasper's words sunk deep in my heart.

I smiled up at him and he grinned back as he gushed,

"There's that smile I love so much, how do burgers sound for lunch?"

I looked at him puzzled and asked,

"There's a burgers place around here?"

"Yes, it's on me."

"No, please you don't have to Jasper." I kindly declined but he wouldn't have it.

"No, it's okay, you deserve it, after today." Jasper smiled softly and grabbed my hand in his.

"OK fine, and where did this car come from?" I asked.

He told me he bought it while I was at the cafe with Mark. I sat there silently until we pulled up to the restaurant. I ordered a cheeseburger with double bacon and an Oreo milkshake as well as chips.

When we got our food, we sat in the back of the car next to each other. Jasper shoved chips in my mouth and I dipped my finger in his ketchup and smeared it on his forehead. He laughed so much and we joked around. When we finished our food, we headed home and called it a day, I kept sipping on my milkshake throughout the journey as I hadn't finished it yet.

We entered the house and went to our bedroom to lay on the bed. I sat between his legs, he put his arms around me and placed his chin on my head and played with my hair.

"I love you, Hope," He said calmly.

"I love you too, Jasper." I lay back into his arms and lay my head on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead. After a while I drifted off to sleep.

Dear Diary,

I have had such a nice morning; Jasper and I woke up next to each other. We woke up to a sun filled room and it just felt so right. Today is going to be so fun.

Jasper and I are planning to go to a seaside market full of so many different stalls. I need some clothes better suited to this weather, and some art. I will always have a soft spot for Jasper too. He needs shorts so I will get some for him.
