Sunspear, Dorne
299 AC
It was Visenya's birthday, and like usual her uncles insisted on a feast.
Visenya wore a scarlet gown, bouncing Elia on her knee while Jacaerys held Aeryn. Many had congratulated her on her children.
Fine silks, books, jewels, and jewelry were common gifts from the lords. Visenya, in both of her lives, always enjoyed books.
"Illyrio Motapis!" the announcer announced confused.
A morbidly obese man entered, and free servants, not the marked ones that where in Pentos, followed, carrying two chests.
"Princess, the rumors in Essos of your beauty do not do you justice." the man said in a honeyed tone.
The Dragon of the Desert raised an eyebrow. "I did not know being one of the last Targaryens caught so many's attention."
Illyrio shrugged that off. "I bring gifts for you, and the little dragons." he said.
The first chest opened, revealing fifty books and three dragons horns. "This is for you, Your Grace. The fifty Encylopedia's of Valyria, in High Valyrian. Which I cannot speak. And three dragon horns."
Visenya and Jacaerys were fluent in High Valyrian. It was their mother tongue after all.
Aaron picked up Elia at Visenya's signal.
"Thank you, Magister." the Golden Dragon said as Martell servants took the chest. "And the other chest?"
The chest was opened to reveal two dragon eggs. One was blue with bright bronze swirls, while the other was violet with shimmers of silver and flecks of black.
"Dragon eggs, for Prince Aeryn and Princess Elia. I believe it would be the most suitable gift." Illyrio smiled.
"Thank you, Illyrio. We hope you enjoy your stay in Dorne." Jacaerys said coldly.
Illyrio bowed and left and the room relaxed a bit.
"Well, let's continue." Nymeria Sand said, but her smile was forced. Everyone was confused why a Magister of Pentos had come to Visenya's birthday celebrations.
Visenya took the Book of Dragons from one of the servants and opened it. The Sun Dragon silently enchanted herself to be able to read High Valyrian fluently.
"Jace, I think we found the key to hatching our eggs." she murmured to her husband.
That is today's chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it.
