First day of work and I couldn't be more nervous. I am curious and eager to get to work and obviously extremely grateful that this has landed on my feet, but naturally I can't help but get kinda anxious.

I need to make a good impression on Claire and I need the clients to like me, because otherwise, I'll lose this job and even the possible gig she is providing me.

I still don't completely believe this actually happened. I was in the shit thinking that nothing good could come my way, when this surprise blew up on my face. It's a huge responsibility and I'm ready to become an adult and embrace it with open arms.

I'm wearing a basic white long-sleeved shirt with baggy pants. I also have the apron she gave me dressed, with a pin with my name on it. My hair is styled in a ponytail on top of my head with a few pieces down on the side of my face. He was perfect but with the wind that is blowing today, a few hairs have fallen out.

After the conversation I had with Miller about Harry and his crazy friends, he hasn't mentioned anything about any of them to me. I appreciate it because I prefer not to know what illegal things they're doing around town, but at the same time, I feel like I should be being informed. For security reasons obviously.

He offered to drive me here today, just like Vicky, but I declined. It's nice to do this route on foot, as much as I get tired, it's still good to exercise. It's refreshing to see the world around me, since I spent almost a whole week locked inside my room. The last thing I want is to be stuck in a car on an unnecessary 10-minute trip.

I fix my apron and leave the locker room, where I left my house keys inside my new locker along with my phone. The only two things I brought. I put on a smile as I enter the public part of the cafe again.

There's a girl standing behind the counter that I still haven't met, another waitress serving her last customer for the day, as my shift starts now and she's dismissed. I tap her shoulder lightly as she delivers the order to the old man, she turns around with a smile, "Oh hello, you must be the new waitress right?"

"That's me" I reach out my hand, "Josie, nice to meet you"

"Ditto" She shakes my hand with a smile,"You came just in time to to save me from a breakdown, we've been busy today"

"Well too bad for me, at least now you can go rest"

"I wish, I have to pick up my son from school" My eyes widen slightly. She doesn't look much older than me.

"Wow you look so young, how old is he?"

"My little Benjamin will be 7 next week, I was a mother at 18" I nod. She looks extremely good for a woman who has had a child. A real milf.

She hands the change to the customer and wishes him a good day, takes off her apron with a sigh and says goodbye to me. Well that was fast. I didn't even catch her name. Now it's my turn. I hope this is at least a little better than the cinema, and that it lives up to my expectations.

With the apron already on my torso, I put on a smile, take a deep breath and then the door rings at my first customer entering.
