"Hello there sugar, missed your pretty face" My eyes lift from the cash register and land on Maya's glowing face.

She's dressed like a Barbie doll, always ready to make an impression even if it's just for breakfast. A baby pink crop top paired with a leather skirt, boots, and a matching coat lined with pink faux fur.

She leans over my counter and rests her chin in her hands. Her glittering eyes twinkle gently as they look at me.

"We FaceTimed yesterday, Maya"

"Yeah, but in person is so much better" She licks her lips and I shake my head with a smile.

We grew closer. By "we," I mean all of us. I made it a goal to not like Harry's friends, but by giving him a chance, I inadvertently started giving his friends a chance as well.

Maya, Sabina, and Nico share a place, so whenever one of them calls me, we all end up chatting. Jordan has been accompanying Harry the most this week when he visits me at the cafe. Through our conversations, I realized that he's not the terrifying monster I once thought he was.

Despite everything, he still scares me a bit

I don't have to talk about Luka, he spends his days at my house, stealing my food and even clothes. I caught him the other day with my shirt, the best justification he found was "Sharing is caring"

"What can I get you?" I ask Maya, as she stands in front of me, with a charming smile.

The door chimes again and I see my ghost friend walk through it. This motherfucker. "Long time no see" Miller says awkwardly.

"Look at what the cat dragged in" I taunt.

"I know I know, I messed up"

"Big time buddy, you haven't texted at all this past weeks. You made me believe you were mad" I could have texted him myself, but with the amount of work and the constant calls from the others, I didn't have any time to talk to him.

"How could I ever be mad at you? I was just really busy with work" I roll my eyes, I hate it when he feeds me outright lies and expects me to believe.

"Excuses, all of the others came at least once this past week. Where were you?"

The door rings again and Harry enters followed by Nico, "What is this, an interrogation? He hasn't been arrested yet Josie, don't put the cart before the horse" My Noah speaks.

"I don't like that joke" Considering the fact that they are literally criminals.

After Harry practically dashed out of my house after receiving the mystery phone call, we haven't speak. I wasn't exactly expecting him to call me that night, given how disturbed he seemed, but at least a goodnight text would have been nice.

I don't want to get attached to him again so quickly, I want him to be desperate to see me, talk to me, apologize to the point where he trusts me enough to tell me why he ran away. I know I promised not to think about it for a few days, but since yesterday that thought has implanted itself in my mind again.

Nico kisses Maya's cheek, "Good morning, my gorgeous lady" He smiles at me looking at the food options next.

The door chimes once more and Jordan and Sabina enter, "Wow, why are you all here for?"
