Unknowingly Yours

I decide to talk to Yeji as soon as Minju left. I walk to the room she's in when I hear crying.

"Yeji?" I knock on the door.

"Yea?" She tries to hide the fact that she was crying.

"Can I come in?" I ask.

"Uh, hold on" she says.

I wait for a couple of minutes.

"I'm going in" I say as I open the door.

She's sitting on the bed with her eyes red.

"We're you crying?" I approach her.

"No. Why would I cry?" She looks away.

I sit next to her on the bed but keep my distance for a couple of reasons. I have feelings for her and I'm still sick.

"Is it because of Soobin?" I ask.

"I think so? Why else would I cry, right? Because I don't know. That's the only logical reason for me to cry right now" she says.

"Okay?" I say, feeling confuse.

"Do you want him back?" I ask even though I'm afraid she will answer yes.

"No, I've thought about it and he's right. I wouldn't be okay with him always choosing something else over me."

"Do you miss him?" I ask.

"I don't know, Ryujin. Will you please stop asking me about Soobin?" She snaps at me so I quickly shut myself up.

"I'm sorry" I look down.

"Are you really dating that girl?" She calmly ask now.

I shake my head.

"I'm home! Ryujin, where are you? I brought food" I hear my best friend shout.

"We should head out but you're more than welcome to stay longer. You don't have to worry about me" I say to her.

"I'm sorry, Ryujin" she sighs.

"For what?" I look at her.

"For everything. For snapping at you earlier, for blaming you for my break up with Soobin and for walking out on you after you told me about your feelings."

"Let's just move forward. Forget about everything that's happened and start fresh. I'd really like us to be friends again without the awkwardness. Just act like I never confessed to you. You didn't even know I had feelings for you until I said so I can hide it well" I say.

"How is that fair for you?" She sighs.

"It's not right now but I am working on it. It may not be tomorrow but I promise to erase whatever I'm feeling for you so we can be friends again."

"If you're okay with it" she says to me, "I do miss hanging out with you."

The door opens, "What are you two doing in my room?" Chaeryeong ask.

"I was staying here because Ryujin had company earlier and I locked my keys in my car so I couldn't go anywhere" Yeji explains.

My best friend looks at me, "Was it Minju?" I nod as a response.

"She brought me food" I say.

"Oh, so you don't want food that I brought? I went home for this and made my mom cook" she pouts.

I stand up, "Of course I do. Mama Lee made it. I'll be better in no time" I smile while walking past her.

I'm still full from earlier but I do really like Mrs. Lee's cooking.
