Robin and Steve pulled up to Dustin's house. Mike and Lucas said they would meet him at the mall. Steve gave a honk of the horn to signal he was here. just a moment after Dustin opened the door, saying bye to his mom and walked down his sidewalk, a blank expression shown on his face. Steve slouched in his seat, feeling sorrow from how sad he had looked.

"Hey kid!" Robin greeted, her head turning to the backseat as Dustin opened Steve's door and sat down. "hey Robin" he smiled, buckling his seat belt. "how we feelin today?" Steve looked through the rear view mirror to Dustin, backing up from the driveway, making his way to the mall. Dustin shrugged, "alright"

"come on, give me something better then an alright" Steve nagged, taking quick glances to him in the backseat through the mirror. his miserable face looking out the window. "i'm not that great but not bad" he mumbled in his hand that covered his mouth. "well that's gonna change kid" Steve smirked through the mirror to Dustin who was looking at Steve's face through it as well, a smile forming on his face. looking back outside. he took his gaze off Dustin and on the road. his fingers tapping the wheel with a song that played only to himself.

They arrived at the mall. Mike and Lucas running up to Steve's parking car, yanking open Dustin's door and hugging him. Steve and Robin got out, looking at the kids who's friendship was starting to somewhat fix up. Lucas pulled Mike off Dustin and hugged him as well, Dustin laughing through out the whole thing.

"What's been going on with you man?!" Lucas shouted, holding Dustin by the shoulders. "just- things" he chuckled as he spoke, his laughter dying away. "well don't leave us like that!" Lucas hugged him one last time, patting his back before letting go and walking in the mall.

"whoa" Robin said in awe, the mall was pretty huge for such a small town. but not as huge as starcourt. "reminds you of starcourt huh?" Robin smiled, nudging Steves shoulder. "sort of" he Replied, still looking around at this new mall.

"Come on!" Mike pulled all three of them to a store, not bothering to tell Steve where they were going. he groaned to him loosing his sight of them. it was just him and Robin roaming around the mall they had never been in before. "sure is big but not as great on stores" Robin huffed, crossing her arms. "how about The Gap?" Steve suggested, pointing to the large store at the end of the mall. Robin snorted at Steve, "The Gap? what are you, a middle school boy?" Robin laughed at Steve who rolled his eyes and looked for a different store, ignoring her comment. "fine where do you wanna go?" He sneered, looking at Robin. "how about... Zumiez" she pointed her head to a store to her left. they both stopped to look at the store. "alright" Steve shrugged, walking across the intersection to the store.

The store smelt like tires and new clothes. his nose scrunched as they both walked in, Robin walking to a rack and looking through the clothes. he walked to the mens side, looking around on what they had. they had skateboards and hats. a place that seemed where Robin would shop from time to time.

"Steve! check this out!" Robin ran to him. he turned to Robin who was holding a 'Queens' band tee up to her chest. "you like it?" she shook the shirt, her feet bouncing waiting for his answer. "me or you?"

"you dingus! i cant fit this"

"i guess.." he shrugged, unsure if he liked it or not. Robin groaned, spinning around and hanging the shirt back on the rack. "oh how about this" she picked a shirt of the rack, turning around showing a 'Tears For Fears' shirt to him. "i like it" he walked up to her, grabbing the shirt, holding it up to him in the mirror. "soo you getting it?" she asked behind him, seeing her in the mirror as he held it up to him. "sure"  "Great!" she grabbed the shirt from him and picked out her own shirt. he turned back around to the mens section, finding himself a shirt. he pushed through the shirts, nothing peaking his taste. then he found a shirt with the words 'Black Sabbath' in purple on a black shirt. he smiled as he held the shirt, knowing who it instantly reminded him of.

"Steve you ready?" Robin called from the counter, checking her and Steves shirt out. "uh yeah" he answered, letting go of the shirt and walking to the counter. "is this all?" the cashier asked, folding the clothes. "yup, here" Robin handed her a $40, "keep the change" she smiled, grabbing the bag and saying goodbye.

"want to look for the kids then?" they both walked out the store, looking around for 3 kids running around. "i guess" Steve mumbled, looking around. "look there" Robin pointed to the bottom floor to Dustin and Mike eating ice cream at the lounge in the middle of the mall. "let go before they run away again" she ushered Steve by the hand, pulling to the escalator.

"what did you guys end up getting while running away?" Robin let go of Steves hand, looking at the two boys looking at her and Steve, "we got some clothes, and ice cream" Mike replied. "where's Lucas?"Steve stepped beside Robin. "he's still getting his" Dustin then replied. Steve looked to him, seeing he was a lot more brighter then before, getting better in Steve's eyes.

"Oh! Will and El are coming here to visit!" Mike shared. Steve assuming Dustin hadn't known for the expression on his face. "what?! when?" Dustin exclaimed, shoving the rest of the waffle cone in his mouth. "tomorrow" Mike looked very excited, not sure if he was more excited to see his girlfriend or his first Bestfriend. "why didn't you tell me?!" Dustin muffled chewing on the cone. "cause you wouldn't answer the phone" Mike got up throwing his cone away. Dustin huffed, then looked to Lucas coming out with a cup of ice cream.

"when do you dipshits want to leave?" Steve asked looking from one to another with his hands in his pockets. they all looked it their watches, estimating a time. "4:00" "6:00" "4:30" they all said at the same time, all looking to each other arguing a time to leave. "alright alright! we'll leave at 5:00" Steve butted in, waving his hands as the kids stopped arguing and looking at him. "no buts." Robin snorted at Steve, looking like a dad. "now go do some shit that 15 year olds do, meet here at 5:00" he pointed to them before they collected their stuff and walked away to some unknown place within the mall.

"classic babysitter Stevie" Robin laughed walking next to Steve. "you shut it" he snapped, Robin holding her hands up in surrender.

They both wondered around the mall till it hit 5, peaking in stores. messing around like teens, getting food, ect. eventually all meeting at the place they agreed on. heading outside the mall and said goodbye. "what you'd get?" Steve asked to Dustin setting down his bag on the floor of the car. "oh just some clothes" he shrugged, looking through his bag remembering what he had bought. "well did you have fun?"

"yeah.." he smiled, his hands pulling out the bag and looking out the window. "good" Steve smiled as well, looking ahead of him. Steve wanted to see himself as Dustin's "Older Brother". helping him with his problems, having fun with him. all the things that an Older Brother would do. he didn't really have siblings to experience this with, so he thought this was a good chance to him.

Steve pulled in his driveway, both him and Dustin getting out. "why are you getting out?" Dustin asked, grabbing his bag from inside. "am i not allowed to say goodbye?" he tilted his head, his hands on his hips. "i guess" Dustin rolled his eyes playfully. Steve holding his hands out for a hug that Dustin fell in. "thanks for dragging my out" Dustin mumbled in his shirt. "of course kid" Steve let go, holding him from the shoulders. "now you going to school on Monday, no buts" Steve winked, hitting Dustin on the shoulder, smiling as he opened the car door. "yeah alright" Dustin huffed, picking up his bag and walking to his door. he sat down in his car, grunting and sighing as he closed the door.

"in definitely calling you Steve Henderson now"

"why?" He asked with a questioned face while backing out.

"cause you two act like siblings!" Steve chuckled at this, a smile stained on his face. "yeah right, i would never be a brother to that kid" he looked to Robin, trying to look serious but his smile blowing it. "say that all you like Henderson" she teased, Steve pushing her arm with his free hand, then put it back on the wheel.
