A couple of days came and went, team seven had some small jobs around the village. Jobs like taking out the trash for some seniors and weeding some gardens. But today’s job totally pushed Naruto’s buttons. Today they had the dishonor of finding a missing cat. That wasn’t really that bad. It was almost to easy. But once they had the cat, well let’s just say there were band aids and bactine all around.

Needless to say Naruto raised a rather large ruckus after that mission. One that landed them a job escorting home a bridge builder. A mission that was promised to be a simple and easy task for a group of genin.

They had all met up at the front gate after taking a moment to gather their supplies.  As they were walking out Naruto ran in front before turning back to the group with both arms raised.

“Yeaaaah!” Naruto shouted excitedly.

“Why are you so excited Naruto?”  Sakura questioned out of confusion.

“This is the first time I’ve ever left the leaf village!” Naruto exclaimed happily. “I’m a traveler now! Believe it!”

“Am I suppose to trust my life to this runt? He’s a joke!” the old bridge builder complained.

“He’s with me and I’m a jonin so you don’t need to worry.” Kakashi chuckled softly.

As Naruto began experiencing his own mini spiral at the old man’s insult, team sevens sensei gave Sasuko a nod once they were away from the village.

Catching the exchange Naruto quickly settled down and jogged back then Sasuko’s side as she ran through the hand signs. Dropping her henge as a boy and standing there before the group in all her glorious self. The bridge builder coughed as his mouth full of sake went down the wrong pipe from the shock and Naruto snickered at him softly.

“Now there’s two little girls!? How could you possibly protect me?” he grumbled half drunk.

“No need to worry about her. She has reasons for her actions, but those are none of your concern. Also, she was the best student in her class, so this team is your best shot at protection on a c rank mission.” Kakashi stated calmly.

Sasuko gave the old man one last long bored look before turning back to Naruto with a bright smile on her face.

“You really shouldn’t argue with clients.” She scolded lightly. “even when they are rude and deserve it.”

“Shuddup ya brat.” Naruto tried to sound mean as his face turned red. “It may be easier for you to concentrate on the mission like this, but your only gonna make it harder for me.”

Sakura and Kakashi could both be heard snickering at his comment before the old man mumbled something about this not being a date.

Bad mood successfully diverted, they all began to walk again. Kakashi began to ask Mr. Tazuna about the bridge he was building as they set a steady pace.

It was getting close to noon and Sasuko was walking next to Sakura as they had their own little conversation. They had just passed a random puddle and nobody else seemed to be the least bit tense. That is, except for their sensei. He acted normally but Sasuko seen it the instant his shoulders tensed for a brief second. Most people wouldn’t have seen it, but Sasuko was always good at seeing the tiniest gestures.

She did her best to fallow her sensei’s lead and behaved as normally as she could manage. But every sound, every rustle of leaves and tiny sound of forest creatures had her listening to everything. All of her senses on high alert as she carried on a natural conversation with the pinkette.

It happened suddenly and had everyone startled momentarily. The chains came out of nowhere and wrapped up their sensei like a burrito before abruptly pulling him to shreds.
