Calling (Amelia)...

Hey Amelia

"Hey girl. What's up? Are you okay now?", Amelia answered from the other line. She seemed to be just getting out of a busy mall when she did.

"Yeah I guess, but that's besides the point. I'm coming over there", I went straight to the point.

"Omg finally you get to be the one visiting me".

"No", I sorta laughed for the first time in about three weeks, "You're gonna be putting up with me for the longest time now"

She had a moment of silence to think and I gave it to her. Not long after I heard her gasp loud, "Shut up. No, what the actual- Are you-"

"I'm moving there and you'll get to see me at school too"

"Shut up. No, literally dead serious?"

"I'm not joking. Seriously"

"(Screams) Omg, that's amazing!"

"I should have not put you on speaker phone".

"Whatever. Looks like you are getting bored of England I see".

"My dad has work there, that's why"

"Okay, Woah, news of the week. What? I can't wait to see you again. When are you coming?"

"In less than two weeks"

"Girl, I wanna be the first person you see here. I'll be waiting for you".

"Bye. I'm hanging up now"

"No, but I have a lot of tea to spill though", she whined

"Save it for when I get there"

"Okay... bye then"

Hangs up

Maybe mom was right. Moving to New York City won't be that bad after all.

Location: New York City

That had to have been the longest flight I've been in and all I wanted to do was sleep.
I looked around and everything was so different and the roads were busier than I thought. Maybe this was my chance to start afresh, just not sure if I'd get used to the whole moving thing.
We got a taxi and drove to our apartment which was already paid for while we were still in England.

It was prettier than I imagined and well furnished and nice cumaru wood floors from the kitchen to the living room. I took a second to appreciate the color choice of L-shaped modular kitchen with ample space for mom to move around as she cooked. The classic light brown added by the wooden counters and shelves and light nicely reflecting on the white painted walls.

My favorite part so far was the wide spaced living room bigger than the one back in England. This place was spacious and the view of New York City from up here through the large windows from one end to another was breathtaking. It would surely set a romantic mood in the atmosphere at golden hour as the orange rays of the sun begin to shine through.
