Crow grunted, squinting as he saw a red tail break through the surface on the horizon, determination seeping through his veins as his glare deepened.

"The ocean has sent us its worst, and we'll send it right back!" Crow hissed, Sarah's glare matching his own as she placed her hat back on her head.

"Carcass shot if you please, gunners!"

Jacob's eyes flashed down at the crate in his arms, the hunter picking the crate up as he ran towards the small cannons that were lined across the ship's bannisters, handing the explosives out.

"Protect our broadside!"

The crew members began picking at the explosives, sticking them in the cannons as Lia followed Jacob's example, picking up a similar nearby crate as she went to the empty cannons, handing the projectiles out.

"All right, ya fish killers!" Jacob called out to the gunners. "We come all this way for a proper fight and–"

"Jacob! Lia!" Maisie's voice interrupted Jacob's speech, the man's gaze meeting her fearful one as she stood unsteadily on the deck.

"What's happening?" She asked with fear lacing her voice.

"Maisie, get back in your room!" Jacob frowned, holding the crate as Lia pushed past him, walking towards the orphan.

"I'll take care of her, you hand out the rest," Lilia pointed to the crate she held, Jacob glancing back at it before nodding.

Maisie's eyes darted around before locking onto a large oncoming wave that lay in between Jacob, Henry, and the crack between Lilia's arm and waist.

She gasped, as Lilia looked back, her eyes widening at the sight as Jacob urged the two to get to safety.

"Go!"

He called out, Lilia nodding before she took the young girl's hand in her own, Jacob looking back at the wave. But despite the princess' easing, Maisie continued to hesitate, her feet planted on the ground as Lilia tried to urge her along.

Jacob looked back, seeing the two there as Lilia gave him a worried glance.  The hunter groaned before handing the crate to Henry, running towards the two females as he plucked Maisie up by her waist, Lilia running after him.

Neither of them seemed to notice the red horn that emerged from the waters, breaking the surface as it neared.

Maisie's room door slammed open as Jacob placed the girl he was carrying down onto her feet, looking at her sternly as Lilia walked in after him, locking the room's window shut.

"Stay away from the window," Jacob's eyes then darted to Lilia's. "Both of you."

"What?" Lilia exclaimed incredulously as Jacob sent her a glare.
