Everyone in the household plus Cam were seated around the table. Happy chatter rang throughout the house.

There were multiple side conversations being held within 2-3 people at the table. They all came to an end when Jeremiah asked Cam if he could call him 'Cam Cameron'

The sweet boy just laughed, "yea man feel free"

Susannah mentioned how she knew Cams mom. He really does seem super sweet, Danica thought that him and Belly would be adorable as a couple.

As Laurel and Cam had a polite exchange about our Korean dinner, Jeremiah spoke to Cam in a slightly condescending way.

Danica looked at her friend seated next to her and sent her a that's interesting... look. That was met with indeed... we'll get to the bottom of this look from her best friend.

"so why don't you eat meat Cam Cameron?"

"Uh, the meat industry is, like, the number one contributor to global warming"

Danica took a bite of her food and smiled, "when he cares about the planet". She fake swooned at the boy and winked at Belly as the poor girl blushed.

Jeremiah sent her a look. "hm" he scoffed, Cam kept the conversation going. "And I just like animals"

Laurel smiled warmly at the boy seated next to her daughter. Taylor spoke up next, "just don't come for my leather jacket"

"pretty sure you mean pleather" The banter between Taylor and Steven had been consistent. Danica, being familiar with Taylors ways, was intrigued by their interactions. She arched her brow.

Jeremiah hopped back to his topic, "you know, uh, Belly eats meat... So you let her kiss you with those lips?"

Amaya chuckled and bit back her laugh as Danica shook her head and through an article from her food at Jeremiah.

Everyone laughed as Belly's asked them to stop.

"No, I don't judge people for eating meat. It's just like a personal choice, I don't care"

I like cam.

Jeremiah kept milking the conversation, trying to get a rise from Cam but he was doing a great job at keeping his cool.

"So you don't care if, uh like, her lips touch a dead animal then those dead animal lips touch your lips right?"

Belly kicked Jeremiah. Cameron chuckled, "no I don't mind at all. Um, in fact.."

He leaned in a pecked Belly's lips.

Laurel and Susannah smiled and laughed as Jeremiah and Steven looked disgusted and began to gag, Conrad had no expression, Amaya smacked her hand over her mouth, Taylor smiled and Danica leaned back in her chair with a clap and a laugh.

"oh i so like this dude, he's ballsy as hell"

The situation got even more awkward when Laurel made a joke and was the only one who laughed.

Steven changed the subject and mentioned an embarrassing story about Belly from when she was younger.

Taylor swooped in a mentioned an embarrassing story about Steven from  last summer ago.

Danica laughed, remembering when Steven proved just how much of a light weight he truly is.

"you know, i'm thinking maybe we should go to Nicole's party"

Danica saw how Conrad stiffened at the mention of Nicole's party.

weird.

everyone finished up dinner and the teens fanned out into their collective spaces to get ready for the party they were all heading too later.

Danica and Amaya were in the bathroom they use and were applying their makeup.

"Okay you noticed how Jere was acting a little weird right?" Danica spoke, seeing Amaya out of the corner of her eye.

"oh yeah, he lowkey seemed jealous"

"interesting, how much you wanna bet Jere and Belly are gonna kiss at some point this summer"

Amaya scoffed, "i'm not even betting on that it's 100% gonna happen, friends to lovers in one of my favorite tropes...but it doesn't beat enemies to lovers "

The green eyed girl looked over at her blue eyed best friend and nudged her shoulder.

Danny rolled her eyes, "no way in hell".

Amaya hopped onto the counter, "okay look, ill always ship Danrad. I've seen it brewing over the years and I've read enough books to know the sexual tension is gonna lead to something. But I do really like Chris so don't think I'm saying I want him out of the picture"

Danica crossed her arms and lead against the wall directly in front of her friend. "Dude listen to me, I had a small crush on Con when I was younger and grew out of it. Then the very short period of time where we were cool this summer, I thought I had feelings but obviously those fizzled away due to him being a jackass".

Before she could respond the bathroom door opened.

There stood Conrad fucking Fisher, with his signature, dumb fucking smirk.

Danica let her head hang low and slumped her shoulders in defeat as she let out a deep breathe, "oh fuck me"

Conrad stepped into the small room and leaned over to grab his cologne from the cabinet right behind Amaya.

With a smirk painted on his lips, "was that an offer?"

Danica flipped him off as he laughed before exiting the bathroom. "Maybe you should pick a better place to gossip about me if you don't want me to hear"

"Fuck you connie"

He stepped into his room diagonally across and down the hall from them, "give me a time and place"

Danica slapped her hands to her face, "UGH!" She let out a frustrated grunt.

Amaya broke out laughing, "that was so funny holy shit"

Danica grabbed Amayas arm and dragged her to their room, "i'm going to shoot myself"

Both girls plopped on the bed, "oh shut the hell up that was hilarious, don't even deny"

"no it was embarrassing"

"and you seriously can not deny the sexual tension, the room basically smelled like sex"

Danica arched her brow at the her friend, "how would you know? you're a virgin remember?"

"okay and? they say that shit in books"

"you are unbelievable." Danica let out a sigh.

Amaya grinned, "they also say that in books" She jabbed Danica with her elbow.

Amaya hopper up and reached her hands out to Dan, "no more embarrassment, we have a party to get too. And you get to see you're favorite boy toy"

Danica rolled her eyes as she stood up, "Chris isn't a boy toy"

Amaya opened the door, "mhm keep telling yourself that"

Danica laughed and through her arms around ember friends shoulders as the pair made their way out the door.
