The soft sound of eddies quiet snores wake me up the next day, I look around my room to see numerous suitcases filled with my clothes "the fuck?" I gently move eddies head of my chest and step out of bed.
My closet had been completely emptied and half of my stuff had disappeared. I tip toe out of my room and Pier down the steps, everything from last night had been cleaned and nobody seemed to be home. "Mom? Dad?" I hop down the stairs and stumble into the kitchen.
My mother stands at the island cutting different fruits "mom what's going on? Why's all my stuff packed away?" She lets out a sigh before making eye contact with me, her eyes are swollen and red like she had been crying moments before I came down.
"What's wrong?" She rushes over to me and embraces me in a tight hug "y/n, we don't think it's safe here for you anymore. You're gonna go live with your aunt" her words hit me like a tone of bricks and my heart drops
"What?.." she gently cups my face in her hands "go finish packing, then say your goodbyes." Tears prick my eyes as I back away from her, shock taking over my expression. "Y/n!-" I cut her off by running back upstairs to my room, slowly shutting the door behind me.
Eddie still seemed to be asleep which is a massive relief, I don't know if I could handle telling him that I'm moving 100s of miles away and that he's probably never gonna see me again. I toss pictures of me, max and el in a backpack along with pictures I got from a photo booth of me and everyone else. Someone had left Polaroids of me, me and Eddie, me and the group on my bedside table.
The tears overflow and burn my cold cheeks "fuck this.." I shove the pictures in the bag and pack all of the contents of my room into bags. Eddie finally wakes up and looks around "what the fuck is all the noise?" He sits up and when my sad expression meets his eyes he immediately stands up "what's wrong love?"
"Eddie...I'm..I.." reality hits him "you're leaving. Aren't you..." I nod as tears drip down my face "it's alright, don't cry" he places a hand on my cheek and wipes away my tears with his thumb "I'm sorry Eddie...if it was my choice I would 100% stay" he crashes his lips into mine and holds on tightly to my hips.
I kiss back and rest my hands on his shoulders, we kiss for a long minute before he pulls away "I'm always gonna love you" his voice cracks as he speaks and tears well up in his eyes "don't tell the others until I'm gone, ok?" He nods and rests his head on mine "am I gonna see you again?"
My heart skips a beat, I know the answer will probably be no I'd just be filling him with false hope "I don't know.." his tears land on my cheeks "please just promise me you will, I don't care if it's fake, please!" I let out a loud sigh "ok I promise" I pull him into a hug and rub circles on his back.
My back becomes damp from eddies rapidly falling tears as Steve walks into the room "y/n..it's almost time for you to go. Get dressed.." he walks back out and Eddie releases his grip on me "haven't you got some of my pj bottoms from ages ago?" I nod and pull them out of a suitcase.
I slip them on my legs and pull them up before zipping all the bags up. My father takes all the bags out and Eddie walks me out to the front of the house. "Don't you dare forget me" I let out a dry laugh "wouldn't dream of it." We share one last kiss before Eddie pulls off one of his rings and slips it onto my middle finger.
"I love you" he smiles softly "I love you too." He helps me into the car and shuts the door before offering me a shaky wave. I roll down the window and Steve pokes his head in "stay safe, little sister" he rubs my head "you too steve" he hands me a piece of paper "try stay in touch ok?" I nod as my father starts the car up.
"Goodbye Steve, see you eddie" we drive away as it starts to blast down with rain. We move past the arcade and the school before finally reaching the goodbye sign.
