"I'll be going now, Arm."
"What time will you get back?"
Pete shrugs. "Just before night falls."
He's resolute to spend his day off away from his Khun Noo be it just by strolling at the park or window-shopping in the mall—anything just so Tankhun wouldn't be able to drag him in search of a girlfriend.
These past three days, Tankhun kept contacting his college friends to introduce Pete to them. He always chooses the nearest café from the main family's compound as the meet-up place since he isn't comfortable straying far from the house.
While he appreciates his boss' support, he gets pressured seeing the effort Tankhun has been putting into this. However, all his friends are socialites! They dress well and act classy too as if they are raised as royalties. While Pete—Pete still wears the same shirt he got three years ago. He doesn't care much about his appearance and he's not fond of luxurious stuff as well.
And... they don't eat curry too!
All these started because he felt so bad while eating that curry rice a few days ago. He wants someone to share it with... he can't share his favorite food with any of them!
To avoid another blind date, he prepared to leave the house before his Khun Noo sets him up again. He usually does that in the afternoon as Tankhun doesn't like going out in the morning.
"Good morning!" He greeted as soon as he walks out of the gate. The sun is up and beaming.
It was all good, his first stop was the temple then, he went window shopping. When he realized the time, it's already past one, too late for lunch. He wants to eat curry but the Southern restaurant is a twenty-minute drive away from where he is so Pete decided to just beg Porsche to take him there some other time. He just went to the ice cream parlor where he always goes with Arm, Pol & Porsche.
Ice cream sandwich as lunch? It'll do. It's hot and he loves sweet.
"Thank you, uncle." He nods his head at the vendor as he reaches out for his ice cream sandwich.
When he goes out of the store, Pete was happily occupied with the food in his hand...
"P'Peteeee!"
He was about to take a bite but his mouth was left hanging open when someone called for his name. He lifted his gaze to see Macau and Vegas sauntering into the crowd and making their way to him.
Shit! Why are they always in the same place as him? Are they stalking him? Pete felt goosebumps all over his body. He might have escaped Tankhun yet not this...
"S-Sawasdee krab Khun Macau... sawasdee krab Khun Vegas." He tried to sound as normal as he can.
"We finally caught you alone." Vegas gestured a brow at him.
'Finally' Pete took note of the term used. He eyed the brothers suspiciously.
Are they up to something? What if they're here to stalk him? Get info? Are they planning another attack against the main house? Yet how will they do that? Khun Gun is gone, Vegas didn't succeed him and Porsche is now the head of the minor family – who is, by the way, Khun Kinn's boyfriend.
These brothers don't have the resources to plan an attack, right? And also, if they want to catch a big fish that can help in their 'supposed endeavors', why would they choose to follow him around? Pete is just a mere bodyguard.
Last but not the least, Macau was never invested in the mafia business while Vegas was rarely in meetings before, even during the war of the families. He didn't see even a shadow of him because he will certainly remember if he does. Maybe they're not as bad as their father.
