"Khun Korn, the Suwanamas called. It'll be their head's birthday next week." Chan informed as he handed the invitation to Korn. It was themed with gold and sky blue.
"Hmm... Cerulean Island. Reserved for three; only one bodyguard each." Korn mumbles as he scans the invitation. "Who else will be there?"
"I think they sent out invitations to some Yakuza branches and also the Techaapaikhuns will be there too.
Korn leaned back to his swivel chair, a hand clutching a glass of wine as he fell into deep thinking.
The Techaapaikhun and the Suwanamas are among the biggest mafia families in the country. Lately, they've been doing business together.
The Suwanamas own some casinos in the Northern Portion of the country and there are rumors that they made millions by extorting from the construction industry. The first daughter of that family is looking for a potential husband. He deduced that the Techaapaikhun might take advantage of this. The two families are slowly growing to be thorns on his path.
"In this business, marriage is essential... but it's not about love... it's about having a stronghold. A control."
Chan remains quiet. He thinks he has a clue about what's going on in his boss' head, although it's still hard to say for sure.
"Is Kim still home?"
Chan sighed when he heard this. He's moving his knight.
"Not at the moment, sir but I believe he said he'll go home the next day. He's often home nowadays."
Korn hums. "Because Porchay is always here. Anyway... we'll talk about this when he comes home. He has to be in this event."
Kinn is busy on the day of the event. Porsche can take his place and the other slot? Korn's thinking of Vegas although the latter always reasons out that he's too busy to go to corporate parties or events as he's trying to patch the holes his father left before passing away.
"I'm sure Vegas will come too." He laughs inwardly. "Don't you think so, Chan?"
"Why do you need Khun Vegas in there, sir?"
Korn shrugs, still smiling. "Since Khan died, he stopped making appearances in social events. Going to parties along with Porsche and Kim will make him feel that he still belongs to this family."
Also, if things go south, they need to have a scapegoat prepared. Korn shook his head with a sly grin. Who can be a better scapegoat than someone who everyone expects to fuck up?

Tankhun pouts, he's bored since his bodyguards were sent on a mission with Vegas—yeah, even Pete. This is his Pa's attempt to bring them closer and help Pete remember that jerk.
"Nothing else to do." He yawned, feeling lazy.
He roams his eyes around his leisure area and made sure it's locked. On his last birthday, he threw tantrums until his Pa agreed that he will have this room. He's the only one who has the key to this room. No one else steps foot unless he says so and his Pa doesn't care much, he only went here once when the room was still decorated with posters of his favorite Kdrama couples. He was so disgusted that he left as soon as he entered.
Nothing else to do so he'll just busy himself with another series.
Tankhun puts on the earpiece he asked from Arm and waited until he heard voices.
"...the Techaapaikhuns will be there too."
Fuck he's late.
"In this business, marriage is essential... but it's not about love... it's about having a stronghold. A control."
