(A/N: Warning! Tankhun's long-ass rant ahead!

I haven't got the chance to re-read this so I'm sorry if there'll be errors and if the narration is kinda fast-paced)

Macau rests his hand on his brother's back, wearing an anxious face. His hiia's body was hot to the touch. His wounds got infected and it caused a fever, it was explained by Dr. Top, the doctor he likes. The former paid a visit this morning to check on his brother.

What happened was that while they were having breakfast, someone called his brother and he suddenly left without explanation. And when he came back? Macau was petrified, almost wanting to cry because Vegas' clothes were bloody; he was scathed and dirty, it was obvious that he'd gotten himself into a big mess.

Macau then was shivering in fear. His thought was like – 'Dad just died, I can't lose Hiia too'.

Later, he learned from Nop that Vegas followed Pete on a mission against a man named Khun Pond.

Now, Macau isn't familiar with Khun Pond, but he often heard that name from his Pa before. It seems their Pa had a good relationship with the said geezer... yet his Hiia afforded to stab him in the back, an act in the name of love.

He doesn't know the whole situation though, he only knows what Nop told him... and now, his Hiia's sick, refusing to eat and drink his medicine.

Macau sighed. "Hiia." He carefully patted his back.

Vegas slowly turned to him. His stare was blank, no enthusiasm or whatever.

"What?"

"You should drink this." Macau gestured for the medicine at the bedside table.

It's been hours since he left it there, he just went out to participate for a school group project and when he came back, it's still there. Vegas didn't bother taking any. Even the bottled water remained sealed.

"I don't want it, Macau." Vegas gently brushed his hand away.

"But why?! It'll help you feel better."

His brother avoided his gaze and turned to the side. "There's no sense in feeling better."

"Hiia—"

"Don't worry, I'll be up and about later. I just need to rest."

Macau clenched his fists. "Vegas!" He started, very annoyed. "Okay, I know you're sad but you heard what Nop said, Phi Pete was worried about you. You should take care of yourself!"

But even with his outburst, all he got was a sigh.

"Drinking that damned medicine won't bring Pete back. He's worried but he's not here. So, what's the point?"

"You're wrong hiia. If you're stupidly sick and bedridden, you won't be able to win him back... What happened anyway? Aren't you guys talking? Did you guys argue?"

But his older brother just stayed quiet.

"Tss... you always keep things from me."

"Because you wouldn't understand. Just go, Macau... I'm fine." Vegas turned to him, looking a bit guilty. "I'll drink it later, I promise."

"Now..."

"I'm too lazy to get up, I just want to sleep."

Macau let out a defeated sigh as he rose... he will just try harder to convince him later. He left the room with a heavy heart. He only has his brother and his brother only has him, this life is too exhausting for them.
