Sad Girls and Bad Girls

       A week later, my roommate arrived. I was quite nervous, because I wasn't really that great and she might not like me. I didn't know a lot about her. I knew her name, and that was about it. But when I heard that knock on the door, I got butterflies.

   "C-come in.", I said. She slowly opened the door and peeked her head in. She was absolutely gorgeous! She had healthy hair, amazing skin, and her makeup was perfect. "Hi, I'm Lizzy, but call me Lana.", she said shyly.

    Lana?

   "I'm Marina.", I said, smiling. She smiled back. I watched as she unpacked her things. I noticed she had a few notebooks and journals. I wondered if she liked to write songs.

  I've been writing for a quite awhile and I have written two or three complete songs that I actually like. My favorite is 'Starlight'. I showed it to my old best friend before I came here, and she literally teared up.

   "So, what are your interests and stuff?", I asked Lana a bit awkwardly. "Oh.. well, I really like writing songs, um..." My eyes lit up. Then, she went on saying how she liked watching One Tree Hill and The Vampire Diaries. I've really only liked One Tree Hill, though.

   "We have a lot in common! I, um, write, too..", I said nervously. She smiled. "So, why are you here, exactly?", I asked, immediately wishing I hadn't asked that. Her expression turned sad. "Well...I got kinda...depressed. It got so bad that became an alcoholic and suicidal."

   I flinched. I could remember being on antidepressants and it felt so fake. Like, fake happiness. "Lana, that's...terrible.", I said, shaking my head. She nodded and changed the subject quickly. "So,...you listen to music?", Lana asked.

    "Yes, but my music range is a mess! It can go from My Chemical Romance to Britney Spears.", I said, chuckling. Lana laughed. I think I'm gonna like her.
