Matt got ready to go the next night. Casey would not be going with him. It was too risky. Her face was still everywhere in the news and online. If anyone noticed her she would be taken in by police and her plot for revenge would be over.
Instead she would be home with Tyler, with her 9mm close by.Casey had thought of this group, however many there were, possibly using the opportunity while all of Matt's friends were together, to try to take Tyler. If Daniel and Kate were in fact part of this group, they would know Tyler was venerable tonight. If they did come she would be ready.
Matt drove to Phil's house and picked him up. He lived in a nice little rancher style home. Perfect for a single guy. Gab stayed there almost every night but wasn't officially moved in.
Gab was working at the Lounge tonight. She had already been there for an hour waiting tables and reserved their usual spot for them. The guys picked up Shaun next."What kind of mood is Bill in?" Matt asked Shaun as he climbed into the backseat.
"He seemed ok when he left to get Kate." Shaun answered.
"I'm not worried about Bill." Phil said. "It's Shannon, man. You guys know how she gets."They absolutely did. She would be on the defensive, and with that came her attitude. They talked about treading lightly, and even if they became suspicious, to not let her know, at least not tonight.
The parking lot to the Lounge was small. The bar itself was surrounded by the Maple Brook woods, which pretty much bordered the entire town.
It was another cool fall night. The boys made their way across the lot, as they prepared to enter they all shook hands with the bouncer, Jeff Kauffman, a local who they went through high school with. The guys had been getting served at the Lounge since they were eighteen. Jeff was two years older than them, and back then he was the reason they never got carded. After engaging him with some small talk they entered the bar and found their friends already seated at their table. The four were waiting for them, sitting side by side. Shannon stood when she saw them and got right to the introductions.
"Daniel, this is Matt, Phil and Shaun. Guys this is Daniel." She said, casually.Handshakes followed. Daniel was a good looking guy. He had black hair with the classic cut, faded around the back and sides and flipped up in the front. He was wearing a white tee, which showed off his biceps, a sign he worked out often. Matt knew this was most likely what drew Shannon to him.
"Nice to meet you. Shannon told me a lot about you guys." Daniel said.
God I hope not, Matt thought to himself. She had swore she didn't give him details about any of them. They HAD been dating a whole month before Casey showed up to warn them. That's a whole month Shannon had to tell Daniel all about her friends. She insisted she didn't say much about them, but she could have just been too scared to tell them the truth."Guys this is Kate." Bill said, without much enthusiasm.
Kate flashed her shiny white teeth at them as she said hello. Her long straight brown hair went to the middle of her back. She had on tight blue jeans and a yellow strapless shirt, revealing her bare shoulders.Bill was a good looking guy but he never had dated someone who looked like Kate. She was gorgeous. It was like he and Shannon were dating two models ripped straight out of a catalog. They were almost too good looking. Phil gave Matt a look upon meeting Kate, he was thinking the same thing.
Gab came over wearing her waitress outfit which consisted of black short shorts and a tight black t-shirt. Phil always gave her shit about her shorts being too revealing. Matt used to love when Amy put hers on to go to work here, but not so much when the weekend crowd of guys would stare at her ass all night.
