Tyler had spent so much time at the O'Hara's Matt decided not to send him there again the following night. He asked Phil and Gab if they could sit this one out and stay at his house and watch him. He knew Gab was not in a good place after last night. Phil gratefully agreed. He also knew Gab wasn't ready to get back out there. They did however join the others as they talked out the plan in the kitchen.
"We wait in the car and watch them come out. We know there are twenty six of them, as soon as they're out of sight, me, Casey and Shannon will go in and get the book. Shaun you keep an eye out for anyone coming back, have a text ready to send if you see anyone." Matt explained.
"Got it." Shaun responded.
"I don't like this guys." Gab said, nervously.
"We'll be in and out." Matt assured.
Shannon strapped on her knife belt. Matt and Casey had their 9mm's. Shaun would have a rifle in the car if needed. The days of going out unarmed were over. They didn't want to use any guns tonight though. This was strictly a recon mission. No noise, nobody gets killed.
"Why are you all dressed the same?" Tyler asked as he walked into the room. They were all wearing black. It made sense, since they were breaking into a house. Isn't that what people wore? At least that's what they did in the movies.
"Cause we're cool." Shannon said to him as she picked him up.
"No you're not." Tyler replied, laughing.
"What?!" Shannon took him in the living room and threw him on the sofa and started tickling him, much to his delight.Phil hugged them all. "Be careful guys." He told them.
"Yes, please come back." Gab said.
"Phil, keep that shotgun close. The security system is on, anything goes wrong call one of us." Matt said.He just wasn't convinced that this cult didn't know where he lived. If they came for Tyler while they were out it wouldn't be good. Phil couldn't hold them off on his own, and Gab wasn't ready. He just had to believe Bill's letter that they didn't know.
"We're good here." Phil assured him."Ok, let's go." Shannon said.
Shaun drove with Matt in the passenger seat. The girls sat together in the back.
"I love your nails." Casey said to Shannon.
"Thanks, I get them done right up town, you should go with me next time." Shannon replied.
"I haven't had mine done in weeks." Casey said, frowning as she looked down at her chipped red polish."Guys, can we focus?" Matt asked.
He couldn't believe they were talking about their nails at a time like this.
"Ew." Shannon said. "We are focused, thank you."She picked up something off the floor in the back and threw it at him, striking him in the back of the head.
"Shan, what the fuck?" Matt said as he picked up what hit him. "Ew man, Shaun it's a half eaten cheeseburger!" He yelled.Shaun laughed. "So what?"
"That's what I picked up?!" Shannon said, disgusted.
Casey laughed harder than she had in weeks. "Okay NOW we all need to focus." She said.
"Shaun, clean your car please." Shannon said.Shaun laughed. "Well I usually don't have too many females back there."
"I think it's gross too, dude." Matt informed him.
"Alright, calm down, we're here." Shaun said.He pulled to a stop across the street and a few houses down. It was 8:45, they had a little time. Shaun got out the binoculars, he eyed up the house.
"Bill was right, house is a piece of shit." He said.
"This must be where most of them stay. Daniel and Kate probably rented places to play the part, in case you and Bill needed to see where they lived." Matt told Shannon.
