"Hey, sugar tits!" Jade said as she knocked on Jason's door.

"What?" He called back, laying in his bed with the back of his head resting on his hands.

"Open the door to find out" Jade responded.

Smirking at the girl's wit, Jason got up from his bed opening the door. Jade stood outside his room dressed in black cotton shorts and a strangely familiar t-shirt.

"Is that mine?" Jason asked, crossing his arms as he leaned against the doorframe.

"Not anymore" Jade replied, pushing past him to go and sprawl out his sofa.

"So, what's up?" Jason asked, pushing her legs off the sofa so he could sit down, bringing them up to lay on his lap once he was comfortable.

"Rachel's room was making weird noises again"

"The growling thing, right?" Jason hummed, drawing small circles on her toned calf.

"Yeah, I heard Gar go in there though, so I left before I heard something I really didn't want to" Jade said, smiling at Jason. They had a bet going, Jade had bet that Rachel and Gar would kiss by the end of the month, Jason had bet that they wouldn't.

So far Jade was loosing.

Just as Jason opened his mouth to tease her, a helicopter sounded overhead.

The two looked at eachother, jumping up to go and check the news in the communal area with the others.

"... live at a downtown car chase in a stolen vehicle, police now seem to have the suspect cornered" the reporters voice said. Sitting down Jade nodded slightly to Gar in greeting, ignoring Rachel's scrutinizing gaze, probably judging the amount of skin she was showing around Gar.

Leaning forward on the couch they watched the suspect exit the car and run towards the officers, drowning out the reporters voice in the process.

"... Now it looks like the suspect-" The reporter continued, the suspect now fighting the police.

"Who the hell is that" Rachel said from her spot on the couch.

"A total badass" Jason replied, eyes fixated on the girl on the screen.

"Agreed" Jade said, admiring the girls flawless technique.

"... The suspect does appear to be female, she has silver hair. She also seems to be injured, we're not sure how badly" The reporter said, the girl now looking at the camera pointed at her.

"Rookie mistake" Jade scoffed, at the T.V.

"What?" Gar asked.

"Looking directly at a camera after committing a crime. I mean c'mon, it's common sense" Jade said, crossing her arms, leaning back into Jason who was seated behind her.

Everyone's eyes grew wide as the girl jumped off the building she was fighting on, after more cops appeared.

"I'll be back" Dick said, quickly walking towards the exit.

"What the fuck?" Jade said, only to be ignored by the rest of the group.

It had only been twenty minutes after Dick left when he returned, now holding the girl from the car chase, who was unconscious, in his arms.

They were silent as he put her into one of the medical rooms. When he came back, he was bombarded with questions, their only answer was a command to alert him if she tried to leave.

Almost an hour later the silver haired girl was walking towards the exit, trying her thumb on the scanner, inevitably being denied.

"Going somewhere?" Rachel said, crossing her arms as she blocked the hallway, being flanked by the rest of the teens.

Dick appeared a second later, making his way to the front of the group.

Rachel put her arm in front of Jason's chest when he took a step forward in an attempt to start interrogating the mystery girl.

"We need to talk" Dick said, the rest of the group took that as their cue to leave, retreating to the training room.

Gar left to grab snacks from his room, handing some to Rachel and Jade before talking.

"So, what do you think is going on out there?" Gar asked, Jason swinging a practice sword a few feet away from them.

"He's probably just trying to find out who she is" Rachel replied.

"He's giving her a sell job. That's what he does 'cause he can't resist a stray" Jason said, pointing the weapon at the group.

"I mean, I knew he'd be bringing in new people, I just thought it would be more people like Jade, not some randos off the street" Gar said, shrugging.

"We don't even know if we can trust her, hell, we don't even know what she is" Jason exclaimed, turning to face the group sitting away from him.

"What she is, is a person who needs help" Rachel said sternly.

"Oh, please. We don't know if she even is a person" Jade said, getting up from where she was sitting and speeding over to the weapons rack.

"Yeah! How did she survive the jump?" Gar added.

"So what you think she's a meta?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah! Or an alien, like Kory?" Gar suggested.

"Well, if she was like Kory those cops would be alive right now" Rachel pointed out.

"She can fight. All right, I can give her that" Jason said, readying his staff as Jade stood across from him with her wooden sword in hand.

"Yeah, whoever she is, she's had training" Jade agreed, lunging at Jason with her weapon.

"Did you guys see her eye? When Dick was changing the bandage?" Gar asked, his tone slightly shaky.

"What about it?" Rachel asked.

"It was gone. But the wound had already healed" Gar said, leaning forward.

"Are you serious?" Jason asked, getting Jade into a headlock.

Rachel snorted "She's been here one hour and you guys are already obsessed with her"

"She's a freak, my vote is we kick her ass out" Jason said resolutely.

"Now hang on Jaybird, why shouldn't we let the pretty lady stay?" Jade teased, elbowing him in the stomach to get out of the headlock.

"Okay, wait. Who says we even get a vote" Gar said.

"Who says she even wants to stay? Look, it might be hard to believe. But maybe her idea of paradise isn't sharing a bathroom with you, Jason" Rachel said turning her head to look at Jason, who was holding his stomach.

"I know how we can find out exactly who she is" Jason said, ignoring Rachel's comment.

Rachel got up, saying she was going to go and check on Dick.

The rest retreated to their rooms, figuring Dick wouldn't be leaving the Comms room for a while.
