That night Jade slept in Jason's room, him occupying the couch whilst she took the bed. She was only there because he had refused to let her out of his sight incase she injured herself further in her sleep.

Jason had grown protective of her in the past couple weeks of knowing her, refusing to let anything hurt the only person, apart from Bruce, who seemed to care about him.

Their similar views caused them to rarely fight, being on the same side the majority of the time.

It was great for both of the teens. They had both gone through life feeling like the whole world was against them, so it was nice to know someone had your back.

Sure, Bruce was there for him, but Jason knew he would never be his first choice. It would be Dick, it had always been Dick.

Jade felt the same way about her mentor.

Barry had located her after an incident at her high school caught his attention. A chemical 'accident' had happened in her science class, causing the cells in her body to change, mutate.

She had woken up in the hospital a few days later, discovering the chemical burns she had received were completely healed. One of the perks of her superspeed, meant everything was faster for her, metabolism, movement, healing.

But no matter how much she trained, or fought. She would never be as good as Barry or Wally. Purely because her powers were unstable.

So two teens who were always second place, became the number one priority to the other.

Best friends, partners, teammates, Jason and Jade, Robin and Haste.

Jade spent the next few hours after the training incident in a deep, almost coma- like sleep. Her body was healing at an abnormally fast rate, and to do that it shut down so it could focus on her injury.

Hence the mini coma.

When she woke up a few hours later it was dark outside and Jason was gone.

Getting up Jade was relieved to find that the pain in her ribs was practically gone. 'Thank fuck for super healing' Jade thought, opening Jason's bedroom door and stepping out into the hallway.

Making her way to the kitchen, Jade was surprised to find it empty.

Turning around Jade headed towards the Comms room, hoping Gar would be there considering it was his favourite room in the building.

Jade spotted Gar, Jason and Rachel all crowded around the monitor as she turned into the hallway leading to the Comms room.

"Hey" Jade said, walking over to stand next to Gar, who was sitting on the only chair in the room. Jason drawing her closer to him in an effort to support her.

"Hey, Jade. How's your ribs?" Gar asked, smiling up at the older girl.

"Better now. What's going on?" She said, leaning forward to get a better look at the screen.

"Dick and the others went out to confront Dr. Light. We're just checking security cameras in the area to see what's happening" Gar replied, typing something that caused one of the many small images on the screen to enlarge, showing Dick and Donna evading what looked like balls of light in a street.

"How long was I asleep?" Jade asked, turning to Jason for an answer.

"About four hours" He said, keeping his eyes on the screen.

A few minutes passed by, the four teens eventually loosing sight of the older heroes. Spending the free time before the adults came back to chat about anything and everything.

The alarm system alerted them to the original Titans arrival.

Getting up from their seats the second generation of Titans made their way to the main living area.

"Where's Dr. Light?" Jason taunted, spreading his arms wide.

"Jason" Rachel chastised.

"A little stealth job on a guy who shoots, what? Headlamps?" Jason continued "I mean, half the city's on fire and still no sign of Dr. Light"

"Now's not the time, Jason" Dick said, exasperated. The younger group coming to a stop a few feet away from him.

"Look, I don't take orders from you anymore, man" Jason said, taking a large step to come face to face with his predecessor.

"I do what I want, when I want" He continued, Jade crossing her arms over her chest, slightly pissed off as she realised; Dick had never sent anyone to help her with her injury, like he had promised.

Dick smiled like he was holding back a laugh, moving to step past Jason. He was stopped when Jason put his hand on Dick's chest blocking his path, Jade simultaneously stepping into his path from a few feet behind Jason.

"Get out of my way" Dick said, his voice turning serious.

"I think you've got it all wrong. You're in my way" Jason sighed, daringly holding Dick's stare.

"Yeah, maybe you need to see a retirement package, huh?" Jason said, keeping his taunting tone.

Jason's knuckles cracked as he clenched his fist in preparation to swing. He turned to look at the small audience behind him, catching Jade's eyes on his own. Her stare warning him that trying to fight dick wasn't going to end well for him.

"Don't" Dick said, his voice low and warning.

Jason ignored both Jade and Dick's warnings swinging upwards in hopes to land an uppercut, but Dick was too fast. He blocked Jason's fist and grabbed the back of the younger man's head, in the blink of an eye Jason was on the floor.

Jade grimaced as Dick cursed. Holding out his hand Dick offered to help Jason up.

"Here" He said.

Jason glared up at him, slapping his hand away, getting up on his own.

He glared up at his temporary mentor, breathing heavily before he stormed past him. Shoulder checking Dick on his way out.

"Jason" Jade sighed, moving past Dick. Following Jason back to his room.

"Jay?" Jade said cautiously, poking her head into his room as she opened the newly slammed door.

"Go away" Came his muffled reply. His head was covered by one of his pillows, as he lay on his bed on his back.

"Jason, come on" Jade said, sitting on the edge of his bed.

"No, Jade. Seriously, just fuck off" He said, slightly louder then before.

"Jay, I just wanna help" She said, leaning forward.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Jade! I don't want you around right now! I'm not in the mood to deal with your bullshit, just fuck off" Jason said, his anger getting the better of him.

Jade leant back, hurt and shock clear on her face. Furrowing her brows, she got up off the bed and stormed towards the door.

"Fuck you, Jason" She seethed, slamming the door behind her.

The weight of his words suddenly dawned on him, groaning into his pillow, he pulled it away from his face, figuring he should go and apologize before he looses the best person in his life.
