My very first writing for anything One Piece related. I do really enjoy writing for these characters at the moment.

What it's like cooking with them

Sanji

-master teach me your ways~
-you get to do basically nothing
-he might let you do something simple
-mostly because he has high standards and doesn't want to criticise your cooking
-unless this is you learning to cook in which case he will teach you, but in increments and it will be an actual commitment instead of a one time thing
-if you can actually cook well and he has seen you do so he might actually let you help more
-he's very good at thinking on his feet when it comes to cooking so if you guys don't have a specific ingredient he knows what you can substitute for it
-follows recipes, but makes changes if he notices something wrong or that he can do better
-however he can cook without a recipe if he has made it before
-if you're also a cook, you'll most likely cook your own dishes side by side instead of working on a single dish
-will taste whatever you made, if he somehow failed to guide your cooking in the right direction, he will feed it to Luffy and Zoro since he doesn't want to waste food

Law

-he can only make some simple and easy things. He's pretty good at making camping/traveling food
-namely makes things he likes like for ex. rice balls and grilled fish
-refuses to make bread
-if you don't know how to cook he'll happily take the lead
-if you do know how to cook, DON'T try to tell him what to do. He will get grumpy and refuse to co-operate. Gently nudging him in the right direction is fine with him
-he will follow written recipes though
-he will not improvise
-also very strict about hygiene
-will taste whatever you made, but if he doesn't like it he will not continue to eat it

Luffy

-disaster
-doesn't know how to cook and eats almost anything you give him
-if you also don't know how to cook, anything you make will be predestined to be awful
-can't follow instructions well. Verbal ones are easier, but if it's too long he will forget it. Written ones are a no go for him, he has trouble reading and gets bored while reading monotonous things
-if you can cook, you two cooking together will most likely be you cooking and him trying to "taste test" your food for you. Also a lot of him asking when it's ready and demanding to be the first to eat your dish
-will eat whatever you made even if it's hazardous

Rosinante

-would be a decent cook if he wasn't so clumsy
-genuinely tries
-if there's any kind of flame he is basically guaranteed to catch on fire
-you need to keep a first-aid kit within an arm's reach the whole time
-actually knows a decent amount of recipes, but most of them are camping/traveling foods since that's what he's used to making for himself
-will both gladly teach you or learn from you depending on your skill level
-will happily make anything with you as long as it's not bread
-will eat whatever you two made, even if it doesn't taste great. Also doesn't like wasting food (unless you forced him to make bread, then you have to eat it by yourself)

Zoro

-never learned how to cook
-decent at following instructions
-can follows recipes
-would only cook with you (or at all) if you asked him to
-if you know how to cook just show him how to cut anything that needs to be cut and leave all the chopping work to him. He can actually do that very well if instructed properly
-don't ask him to go get anything for you, he will get lost going to the pantry
-will eat anything you make even if it's horrible

Usopp

-can actually cook, but nothing too fancy
-is banned from touching Sanji's spice shelf so if you want your food to have any spices (including salt) you have to do it yourself, he isn't risking being kicked by Sanji
-would genuinely be a fun cooking partner
-can and will talk while he cooks whether it be him telling one of his stories, making jokes or just making conversation with you. Will get quiet if there's a hard part and he needs to concentrate
-is up for experimenting with his cooking, but it can end up badly since he isn't a professional
-will happily eat what you made, but if it tastes horrible he eats a few mouthfuls before giving up and sliding it over to Luffy to finish
