(Meggy's Office)

(Meggy's POV)

It's the next morning.  Desti and I enter my office (apparently she thought she should lead the way) as she looks around and sets down her things.

Desti: *in awe* So this is our office...

Meggy: *confused* Uh... it's certainly my office.

Desti: Aww Meggy, we're in this together now! *smirks* What's yours is mine.

Meggy: *facepalms* Jesus Christ... okay, um... I guess just don't touch my- or "our" things, don't sit at my desk, and... don't be an idiot.

Desti: *scoffs* Fair enough, but where am I going to sit?-

Meggy: Desti real quick... what are you going to do here that won't cause me to put my foot down?

Desti: Hmm... lemme think about that for a-

Meggy: You can't think of ANYTHING?

Desti: Uhh... OH! COMBAT!

Meggy: ...Combat? You mean like standard training until I'm good to go again?

Desti: *smirks* I think you're well aware that's not what I mean.

Meggy: *sigh* Elaborate.

Desti: Do you want to know why the agents struggle so much when it comes to fighting?

Meggy: You know five of my students wiped out an entire army, right?

Desti: Octarians don't count.  Those things are mindless ragdolls.  Anyone can kill a large group of those things easily.

While that is kind of a bullshit take, I reluctantly agree.

Desti: It also surprises me how one of your "students" was even-

Before she can finish, I give her a glare.  I don't know what for.  I don't know if it was out of anger, or sorrow...

or fear...

But either way, it seems Desti understood what I meant, probably better than I did.

Desti: *grins* I don't need to remind you...

Meggy: I don't have all day.  Unlike you, I have a desk to sit at, and shit to work on.

Desti: *chuckles* Then I'll make it quick.

I watch impatiently as she walks over to my desk and fidgets with my pens.

Desti: I'll give you credit where credit is deserved, Meggy.  You're a good fighter, maybe even a great one, but in no way do you compare to an Inkling.

I'm unfazed by her remarks.  After all, she is correct.  When I was an inkling, I was more agile and flexible than I am as a human, and there's one other advantage inklings have over humans...

I guess it's in the name.

Desti: You simply lack the abilities you're own agents share, but if I teach them, why, they'll be unstoppable!

I start to grow concerned as Desti begins to laugh... maniacally...

Desti: Can't you see Meggy?! WE'RE NOT HUMAN! WE SHOULD UTILIZE OUR ABILITIES-

She quickly stops as we hear knocking at my office door.

Mark: Uh... am I early?

I turn my back to Desti and go to open the door, but she stops me for a moment.
