(Desti's Turn)
(3rd Person POV)
Immediately after Meggy leaves, Desti's mood changes for the worst.
Desti: *looking around* ...I'm disappointed...
Mark and Dan share a look of confusion as to what Desti's deal is.
Desti: *to Pov* From the very beginning, you were tasked by Marie to lead these agents, just like Meggy.
Mark: *shocked* W-wait you were?
Desti: Of course, and yet here she stands on the sidelines, just like all of you afterthoughts.
The other three begin to feel remorse for Pov. They've all gone through a lot, and yet this stranger is shaming them for it.
Desti: *to Mark* You, the most wasted potential I've ever seen. You are of the octarian race, one of the highest in the ranks in fact, and yet here you stand, just as weak and pitiful as your friends.
15 goes to stand up for Mark, but Desti shoots her a look that instantly stops her.
Desti: *to 15* You, "15"... if I should even call you an agent. You only prevail by relying on your "trump card" when backed into a corner. You were gifted great potential, and yet just the sight of you is a disgrace to Dr. Tartar's work-
Upon hearing this, Mark has finally had enough.
Mark: *steps in front of 15* Well excuse you. I'm sure Meggy didn't bring you here just for you to look down on us and-
Desti: Why am I here, Mark? What have we established time and time again?
This time, Mark's confidence begins to shrivel.
Mark: *looks down* ...Combat-
Desti: No.
Pov: Wh-what do you mean?
Desti: I'm sure it's already established that I am your boss.
Dan: *confused* But... what about Meggy?
Desti: *sighs* *to herself* This goddamn kid...
Hearing this, Pov looks at Dan, and back at Desti, extremely concerned.
Desti: Meggy is your leader, sure. You learn from her, follow her, live off her... but Marie was your boss... now it's me. I regulate what you do, who you do it for, and what you get out of it.
Desti looks around and admires the agents... three of them, at least...
Desti: *to Pov, Mark, and 15* You three... can be remarkable assets to the agency. All you need to do is follow my lead.
Mark: *pauses* Us... three...
Pov: Yeah, what about Dan?
Desti: *annoyed* What about him? From what I've seen and heard, he's done absolutely nothing for this agency.
Dan watches helplessly as everyone looks down, ultimately agreeing with Desti.
