The sun shined through my window directly on my face, I groaned trying to wake my ass up, I turn to my side to see my alarm clock and realized it didn't go off, thank god it was only 10:28 on a sunday

I stared at my ceiling and all I could think about was Vance, he for sure had my attention yesterday and that eye contact we made had to mean something, I finally got the courage to get up out of bed, I wasn't trying to miss Finney's game

Dragging myself downstairs, it was quiet but I could hear my stomach rumbling begging me for some food, I go to get some eggo's and place them in the toaster, while I wait the door in the kitchen flung opened "Holy shit mom you scared me!" I jumped and my heart is beating fast

"Got any plans today?" mom asked "I'm just about to head out, going to Finney's baseball game" I say while taking the eggo's out the toaster "Oooouuu so you and the boy next door, possible new boyfriend?" mom says smirking "God no, I met him not even 24 hour ago" I say  "Yeah I guess your right" mom says taking a long pause "Have fun, just be safe out there" mom says concerned "Mhm I will be" I say looking at her as she goes back to doing whatever

After brushing my teeth and putting on an outfit, I put on my shoes and head out to the game

I finally made my way to the field and try to find a spot, I was a little bit late so I didn't expect much to happen "Y/N! Over here!" I look over to the voice and see Gwen smiling at me, I walk over and I see she's sitting with Robin, right at the front so I got a good view of the game

"So what did I miss?" I asked "Not too much, Bruce's team is winning right now" Gwen response "Who's this Bruce kid?" I asked, Gwen points to him, I couldn't see much of him but from what I saw, he looks charming "Well he's charming" I say to Gwen "Ewwww!" Gwen says and give me a disgusted look, I laugh it off

"Thats what all the girls say about him but don't be too fooled by his looks, you'll just end up being heart broken" Robin says

I look to watch the game and see it's Bruce's turn to bat, Finney is pitching "Come on Finney come on" Gwen says, people cheered quietly, Finney throws the ball and Bruce misses

"STRIKE ONE"

"Yes Finney nice!" Gwen says, Bruce looks upset "Let's go Finney, two more strikes" his teammate says, Finney throws the ball again and Bruce misses

"STRIKE TWO"

"Yes Finney that's it!" me and Robin say, Bruce looks even more upset "Come on Bruce!" some people in the crowd say, Finney looks at us then back at bruce, they stare at each other intensely

Finney throws the ball once again and Bruce hits it, everyone has their eyes on the ball, Bruce lets go of his bat and starts running trying to make a home run "No no no no" Gwen says in an upset tone, number 7 on the out field tries to make a run for it but the ball goes over the fence

"Ughhhhhh" the people around me say, Finney's team is upset, some of them even threw their hats on the grown and started to stomp on it but I mainly looked at how upset Finney was, yesterday he was so excited and so positive they were gonna win

Everyone cheers "Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!" repeatedly and finally he scored his home run winning the game, Bruce's team huddles up and jumping in joy, most people leave the game but me and Gwen stay waiting for Finney

As we wait for Finney, unexpectedly Bruce comes up to me

"I haven't seen you around, you new?" Bruce asked "Yeah I just moved here yesterday" I say back "Let me introduce myself, I'm Bruce, Bruce Yamada, what's your name?" Bruce hold his hand out for me to shake "Nice to meet you Bruce, I'm y/n, y/n y/l/n" I say shaking his hand
