"so, how is filming going so far?" chris asked kaia, before sipping his hot coffee.
kaia eyed the coffee for a second. she hated when people drank hot coffee when the weather clearly calls for an iced one.
"oh, it's so good. we are about a month and a half in," said kaia.
chris nodded. "anyone getting on your nerves? i know how sets can be," laughed chris.
kaia chuckled. not someone getting on my nerves, maybe staying in my fucking head all the time.
"glad to say no. everyone on set is like family to me," laughed kaia. "are you working on anything right now? i know you have something called ghosted."
chris beamed.
"yeah! it's probably one of my favorites so far," smiled chris.
"um, i'm sorry if this is too forward. but, are you and glen powell...dating?" asked chris.
kaia choked on her iced coffee, then started laughing.
"oh no, we aren't. i've known him forever, we are each other's soulmates in the form of best friends," laughed kaia. "we get that a lot though."
"oh, i just see how you two are always together, that's all," said chris.
it was now 12:24. had they really been talking for that long? kaia knew she had to get home at 1:00 for lunch with monica and glen in la jolla.
"well, i actually have to get back now. i really enjoyed our time today, chris. maybe one day i can take you on set," smiled kaia, as she got up. chris doing the same.
"oh my, only if tom cruise is okay with it. i would love to," said chris. "um, maybe one day we can meet up like this again? you know, maybe a dinner instead."
kaia smiled, "i'd love that. i'll text you a day for when we can get together and when i can get you on set."
"right," chris nodded. "can i have your number? i hate using instagram," chris laughed, kaia doing the same.
"sure," said kaia before inserting her name and number into his phone.
"sweet, i'll see you sometime soon," smiled chris, bringing her into a hug.
and also a kiss on her cheek.
and in that moment she could only think one thing.
miles kisses my cheek like that, not chris.

"so, how was it?" asked glen, when kaia walked through the door.
"it went good," kaia smiled. "we are meeting up again soon."
glen smiled.
"that's great, kai," said glen. "how are you feeling about this?"
"glen, its too early for anything," sighed kaia. "but it was nice, he's genuinely so sweet."
"but?"
kaia sighed. glen read her like an open book, of course he knew that kaia was feeling off about it.
"i don't know if i want a relationship right now, especially during filming," said kaia. glen nodded, understanding where she's coming from.
