after a full day of filming, all kaia wanted to do was eat and then sleep. she was thankful that glen didn't bother her all too much, and let her do whatever. but he did make her a light dinner.

it was now 11:47 at night, and kaia was still wide awake. she couldn't sleep, so she was up with her bedside lamp on and reading a new book she had bought at the local book store.

then her phone buzzed, so she took off her reading glasses and marked her place in her books.

miles teller
Hey, look out your window

kaia furrowed her eyebrows. she wondered why this man was texting her this, but then she listened to his text and went to her window.

and there he was in grey sweatpants and a black sweater donning the philadelphia eagles logo on it. in his hands was a tote bag that looked full. his other hand was above his head and waving at the girl. he wore a wide smile.

"miles! what the heck," kaia yelled, not too loud but loud enough for him to hear through a laugh.

"come down!" miles said, but kaia was skeptical. "yes, i know it's late but come on!" he laughed.

kaia nodded and walked away from the window. she was wearing an oversized 'malibu' shirt with pale pink sweat shorts. she grabbed a gray sweater just in case, slipped on her flip flops and went down stairs.

kaia slid open the french doors leading to the beach backyard where miles was.

"miles, tell me why you are here at almost midnight," kaia laughed with her arms crossed.

miles' smile didn't fade. "come on. eat with me," miles aid, gesturing to the modern wooden chairs and table outside of glen and kaia's beach house.

kaia was skeptical, but followed his lead in taking a seat. kaia eyed him as he was taking out the contents of his tote bag that he brought.

"miles-"

"shh, let's just eat first then you can throw some questions at me," he laughed, making kaia chuckle softly.

miles pulled out a bottle of sparkling cider, sushi rolls, and two pieces of passion fruit cheesecake. this made kaia's heart warm and smile go even wider.

"miles, this is all my favorite stuff," kaia realized.

"yeah, well, you kind of got me hooked onto this stuff," miles shrugged. "kinda had a craving."

kaia shook her head at him and laughed. they both started to dig in without another word. kaia retrieved cups for the cider, and when she came back miles revealed that he got them both her favorite roll.

minutes passed by of them eating, and laughing about stuff that went on at set earlier in the day.

kaia cleaned off her chopsticks, and placed them on the container the sushi was in.

"miles, this is an amazing gesture. but why are you really here?"

miles took a second to look at kaia after she had asked the question. he looked at the way freckles littered her face, how her cheeks were a little red even through the porch light shining on them.
