Chapter Five

𝘈 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦'𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘴, "𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦"

𝘚𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦.

It was bright and early when Steve was awoken by banging on his front door

Steve lifts his head from his pillow and grabs his alarm clock, looking at the time, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯.

Steve opens his room door to see Billy opening his, too. Steve noticed how he was only in a t-shirt and boxers

Steve never thought about what Billy would wear to sleep, but it was a little surprising and disappointing seeing him in the shirt.

"You get in a fight with a bear, Harrington?" Billy teases leaning on the door frame

Steve looks down at his chest, "Yep, and won it too." Billy walks to Steve and taps his shoulder, "Your first win, congrats."

Steve raises his eyebrows as Billy grins. He stretches his arms before asking, "Also, who the hell -" Steve stops him, "The kids they were coming over today."

"Why are those little shitheads here this early?" Billy rubs his eyes before going back into his room and closing the door

Steve walks down the stairs, opening the door and putting his hands on his hips, "Do you know how early it is?"

Steve was greeted with the usually six kids, but behind them was Eddie and a girl he couldn't remember..𝘖𝘩 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘺, 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘺?

Before Steve could speak, his friend Dustin pointed at his chest, "You really need to fix that man."

Steve scoffs pushing Dustin in the door, and the others follow, "He's right," Lucas adds on before sitting in the living room

Steve walks back downstairs, fully clothed, and sees Billy covered, too. The kids were talking to Chrissy but turned to Steve when he walked in

"So.." Steve clears his throat, "I see Chrissy is back, "

"No shit Sherlock." Dustin says Steve walks over to him, flipping him off and then sitting beside him, "How is she back, Einstein?"

"Eddie," Dustin gestures his hand from Eddie to Chrissy, then to Steve wanting him to explain what had happened

"Well, me, Dustin, and Max were all still at the cabin when the phone rang. It was my uncle, and apparently Chrissy had "appeared" out of nowhere." Eddie says, putting up air quotes.

Eddie continues on about how when they got to his trailer, Chrissy was there untouched and scared

Billy had his arms crossed and one leg sitting on his knee, "So that's all that happened?" He asks after Eddie finishes

"Pretty much."

"Yeah-yeah-yeah, now can we get to the real reason we came here!" Dustin nags, "I haven't played in a while, so I've been waiting forever now, " Will adds.

"Oh really?" Steve says, watching the kids set up the game board, "Absolutely."

The group had been playing for half an hour now, Steve tried to listen but he couldn't, all he did was watch.
