Chapter Twenty-Eight

Billy, Eddie, and Nancy all stood side by side, Nancy held her gun in front of her as did Billy with the bat

The demo-bats noticed them coming closer, they made a hiss like noise when he raised the bat closer

He stepped near the car enough to touch one's tail with the fire, it jumped up making the others react.

A demo-bat set its eyes on Eddie, he was slightly hiding himself behind Nancy and Billy, he saw the demo-bat's glare

"I'm going to run." He whispered to Nancy, "Don't run. That will make the rest follow."

The demo-bat flew into the air making its way to Eddie, before it could get to him Billy took the bat, hitting it away

The demo-bat whined as it flew off, "Can I run now?" Eddie asked Nancy, "No- you'll make all of them run after you."

"Right...right." He nodded

"You think Eddie's scared?" Robin nudged Steve's shoulder, "If he's using Nancy as a shield he definitely is."

"Hey come on man." Dustin said, "He fought a whole lot more than that!"

"Yeah but he had a weapon." Steve looked at Dustin, "What do you mean?" He asked, "Well...You know. Billy had nothing when he fought that- that mall monster."

Max overheard Steve speaking about Billy's fight last year, she thought she was the only one who felt that way, "Let's just say they both fought equally." Robin smiled

"Yeah...let's just say that." Dustin glared, Steve shrugged it off, "Sure seems fair."

𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺...Max thought, 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥.

"Oh hey!" Max put her hand on Steve's shoulder, "They got the bars off." He checked in the direction she pointed seeing a cleared car

"Looks like it."

Nancy lowered her gun, "Wasn't so hard now was it." Billy turned glancing at Eddie hiding behind him, "For two of us."

The others standing near Steve's house made their way to the three, "You did great out there, Nancy and Billy." Robin smiled

"Hey! I contributed." Eddie crossed his arms, "Oh yeah, you lit Mike's jacket on fire. Which is now turning to ashes."

Billy turned his head down watching the ash fall, he blew out the rest of the fire, "Sorry about that Wheeler."

Mike waved his hands across the air, "Don't even worry about it." Billy tossed the bat over to Steve who caught it perfectly

He threw it over his shoulder, "Everyone ready-"

"Do you guys hear that?" Will asked, the party went quite trying to listen to what he heard,
"I don't hear anything."

Steve turned to Billy who was rubbing the back of his neck, Eddie did too, "You two hear anything?"

"Nothing, just a cold chill." Eddie shook his head

Billy looked into the sky, shading his eyes with his hand, everyone did the same, "That's not a door is it?" Lucas glanced at Max

"Falling from the sky?" She made eye contact with him, Billy watched it fall wondering where it was landing

He followed the door and knew it was going to hit Eleven, once it got close enough to the ground he ran over to pull her away.
