A Friendly Bet

"good to have you back Min-Ji" Sook-Ja says

I looked at them weirdly "I was only gone for a couple of weeks but thank you for the warm welcome" I said smiling at my co-workers

"alright lets get back to it" Sung-Hoon says clapping his hands together making everyone to get back to work "Min-Ji a word" Sung-Hoon says waving me over at his office

I nodded feeling nervous walking towards his office; as I closed the door behind me I felt his eyes on me "Min-Ji... I know you are going through a break up but-"

"you can punish me, that's fine- I missed a couple of work days so I deserve it" I said cutting him off he chuckles at me making me look at him confused "are you not gonna punish me?" I asked

"well yeah I'm going to punish you but I wanna say first that I hope you're feeling better before I can punish you" he says making me nod

"yeah I'm ok" I said

"good; I'm making you work nights instead of day" Sung-Hoon says smiling sweetly

Nooooo! "yaay" I said sarcastically; being able to work nights is the worst around here "so..."

"you can go home and tomorrow you can start at 6 pm sharp- don't be late" he says and I nodded slowly

I walked out of the room with a sad look on my face making Sook-Ja wondered why and when I told her she pitied me immediately; she asked me how my night went and I said I had a terrible hangover which she laughed at but that's not really my concern today

when we were done talking I went back to my condo with some groceries and once I entered the door I heard the TV on which makes me walk towards it and upon seeing Na-Ra laying on the couch with all kinds of mess all around the living room "seriously? I just cleaned yesterday- c'mon Na-Ra clean up" I said putting the groceries on the kitchen counter before making my way to her already picking up junk

"I was gone for about 30 minutes and you already made a mess?" I asked

"well Jungkook did a great job making you the old Min-Ji again- I missed her by the way" she says softly smiling at me but I look at her with a I'm going to kill you if you don't clean up face which she quickly cleans up

as soon as we were done cleaning we sighed taking a seat on the couch together "so he gave you a night shift? that's all?" she says

I explained to her what happened today "that's all? are you insane? I hate the night shift- its all packed" I said

she looks at me confused "if its packed then-"

"with annoying couples and rude people" I cut her off I huffed "this is the worst" I said grumpy

she pats my head "don't worry- I'm sure they'll tip farely" she says "anyway, I wanna talk about something else..." she pauses "about Jungkook" she says making me sigh

"I thought we were done with that conversation?" I asked

she nods "yes we are I wanna make a bet with you" Na-Ra suggests making me listen

"ok.." I muttered ready to listen

"if you guys don't end up together by the time of my birthday- I'll get you a free ticket to anywhere you want-"

"anywhere around the world?" I asked

she nods " yep- but if you do end up together I wanna switch cars with you" Na-Ra says

"why cars?" I asked

"I like your car better- even though you don't use it often I wanna have it for around 5 months... so deal?" she asks making me think

this could be good right? all I have to do is not to fall for him- its going to be easy "deal!" I said happily to agree

"night Min-Ji" Na-Ra says as she walks out the door

"good night, have a nice drive home" I said as I close the door behind her

as soon as I did I walked to the kitchen grabbed a bottle of wine, wine glass and chips; after I grabbed it I made my way to the living room opening the TV and put on a K-drama; I sighed as I sipped my wine "finally she left" I muttered

I was relieved when I was finally alone at my condo- its not like I didn't miss her I was just very tired of her stories and plus I think she was just telling me about that to brag and it worked, I was jealous she was travelling all around the world- but that's fine... still grumpy but fine

a knock on the door interrupted my train of thoughts, I got up from the couch and made my way to the door opening it and upon seeing Jungkook with a huge smile on his face I immediately said: "no" I said about to close the door but he stopped me

"I haven't said anything yet Min-Ji" he says

I sighed "and I don't want to here it! no offense but to be honest I'm still a little hangover from yesterday- so no to what ever it is" I said "but since your here come in" I said letting him in

he follows me to the living room "wow, wine? really? I thought your still hangover?" he asks

"I am but I'm stressed because Sung-Hoon moved me to the night shift" I said sitting down

he sat down next to me "aww you must be furious that he moved you there; you told me it was bad to be in the night shift" he says and I nodded

"because it is!" I exclaim "anyway, why are you here?" I asked is this about this morning?

"I wanna tell you about something.." he says "I'm going to Busan this weekend-"

"you are why?" I asked cutting him off

"we have a thing going on there- and yes I cant tell you about it but the point is... I was going to ask you if you wanna come but you said you'd be working" Jungkook says

"you were?! man I was going to say yes, I haven't been to Busan in a while" I said which makes him nod

"so are you going to be fine for a couple of days?" he asks and I nodded

"of course, you'd always be away with something comes by and I'm totally ok" I said "besides Na-Ra decides to stay until her birthday comes" I said

actually she wanted to stay because she wanted to see if she won the bet but no way I'm telling him that "so yes I'm going to be ok" I said

"good, because I know your going to miss me very much" he says

I scoffed "I don't think very much but sure I'll miss you" I said

"do you wanna take a picture of me so that you can look at it all the time when your missing me?" Jungkook asks

I chuckle "no thanks, I already have Cooky so I don't need you- besides I like him better" I said making him gasp

"how there you! replacing me with him- I didn't even know you had him" he says with a over dramatic voice

"had him? I have him wrapped him onto my finger" I said making him chuckle "I'll be fine Jungkook" I said

"good" he says giving me a brief hug "ok I'm going now, good night little bird" he says

"night" I said walking him towards the door "have fun with... all this" he says scanning the living room

I open the door for him "good night Jungkook" I said

"alright I'm going" he says

Jungkook looks back at me before walking off, I closed the door sighing

its going to be easy not falling for him, his my friend... only friend and that's it
