(Y/N) was swamped with the overwhelming regret she was now feeling in coming here, and as she held her eyes closed in solemn resignation, she was struck by the sudden silence, and the general lack of movement around her. Another moment passed, and she nearly jumped out of her own skin when she felt a sudden, light tap on her shoulder. She slowly, cautiously opened her eyes only to see.... a small demon? A demon resembled Bendy far more than the creature that had been standing there mere moments ago. At least, that's what he looked like for only a few more seconds, until the concentration on his cartoonish face swiftly disappeared into shadow, and his shape shifted into... into....
"Wait a minute? You're... you're.. human!? What... but.. where's the-"
"Demon? The one that was just standing here a moment ago?" He interrupted, cutting her off effectively as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. She was so surprised at his verbal response that she could only sit there in dumbfounded silence.
"Yeah, uh, about that.... erm... sorry about that..." he continued, seeming embarrassed as he glanced off towards the wall with a flushed face. "I um... thought you were someone else. Didn't mean to scare ya. So uh.... what are ya doin' here, Toots?" he questioned with a raised eyebrow, but she could only stare at him, still feeling a mixture of both mounting curiosity, and mistrust.
Here in front of her, where there had just been a huge, grinning creature, was now a completely normal-looking teenage boy, and, she hated to admit, a handsome one at that. Yet even more consuming, was the fact that he seemed so familiar to her, and yet she just couldn't place it.
'Wait, why am I thinking that!? Wrong time, (Y/N)!' she thought to herself with a dark blush as she struggled to come up with a response to his question, while he tilted his head at her curiously, waving a gloved hand in her face.
"Uh.... Toots? Hello? You in there...?"
The sound of his voice jolted her out of her thoughts, and she blinked in confusion, focusing on him again, before she forced herself to form an answer, deciding to just tell the truth.
"I, uh... I came here on a dare.." She admitted awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head, causing him to again raise an eyebrow, which seemed to be his tell for when he was curious.
"Huh. Well that's not the long explanation I was expecting. Makes sense though, I suppose."
Again, something about the way he spoke, his reactions to her answers, gave her such a powerful sense of familiarity, that it was beginning to annoy her how difficult she was finding it to remember. For the moment, she decided to give up, sighing as she looked up to reply again.
"Well, actually, my father did used to work here..." she added hopefully, yet cautiously, not sure what type of reaction that would elicit out of him.
And then she realized, knowing her father, that the fact that he used to do more than work at, but run this worn-down place, would probably not help the situation. And it was this realization that caused her to cringe as soon as the words were out of her mouth, while his eyes widened.
