Bellamy's POV

"Is it straight?" Clarke asked looking down at me from where she was standing on the ladder.
Seems like putting up a banner is harder than it looks.

"Top left corner is a bit crumbled."

She stood on her toes to reach the corner but she lost her balance.

She yelped and almost fell down but without thinking it through I caught her before she hit the ground.

"Holy shit, are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"Are you alright would've been a much more appropriate question in this situation."

"Thank you would be a much more appropriate response."

She didn't have anything to retaliate. For a few moments we were both silent and that was when I came to my senses and realised I was holding her very, very close to me.

She had, probably unconsciously, wrapped her own arms around my neck.

My gaze moved all over her face and finally fell on her lips.

She averted her gaze and while looking away she said, "We need to finish with the preparations, Murphy will be here soon."

Agreeing with her I put her down and mumbling something about going to help the others
I walked away.

"Surprise!"
Everyone shouted at the same time as Emori was leading Murphy in.

"Uh, what the fuck?"

No one bothered to reply as Emori started singing Happy Birthday and everyone joined her.

We each took turn to wish him happy birthday. I took his hand and pulled him in for a friendly pat on the back, "Happy birthday man."

"Ugh boys." Raven rolled her eyes at us.

"Shut it Reyes." Murphy shot back.

"So, are we going to eat or what?" Jasper spoke up once everyone was done with their wishes.

"You're always hungry." Monty replied.

Clarke's POV

"So who's ready to play bowling?" Miller asked.

Everyone nodded and cheered in response.

"Let the games begin!" Octavia exclaimed.

And so they did. We had taken 3 of the aisles to play in teams of 4. I was paired with Bellamy, Octavia and Lincoln. Jasper, Monty, Harper, Maya on the one team and Murphy, Emori, Miller and Raven on the other.

We had already played a few rounds when I came to a simple conclusion: I was not good at bowling. I sucked, big time.

Octavia and Lincoln were good enough but Bellamy, he was the real deal. Because, of course, Bellamy had to be good at bowling. He seemed to be good at everything.

It was my turn when I had missed again and I was frustrated.

"Damn it." I cursed, starting to get irritated. I was tired of this game.
