i revised chapter sixty-two

———
Two years later...

For the past two years, the Meliean Empire has thrived more under the reign of Urus. People has started to love him and believe in him. They no longer feel fear when they near him nor talk nasty things about him.

Everything is well.

His relationship with Azelaine became stronger and they only believe at each other. Urus gained more political power and the high nobles also supported him.

While the last emperor, Ytrius, resides in the peaceful place inside the imperial palace. It is somewhere that he can enjoy the view of the empress' garden, the garden which the late Empress Thiana decorated and bloomed by herself.

Whenever he looks at it, he feels like Thiane is with him.

"Ah... what a lovely garden." Ytrius' solemn mind was interrupted by Frizella. His eyebrows furrowed when Frizella suddenly showed up. After Ytrius resides in this room, Frizella never showed up in the past two years until now.

Her eyes seems darker and her aura feels strange. Ytrius became wary. "What are you doing here?" Instead of answering him, Frizella laughed then walked towards the window.

Ytrius scanned Frizella's physical appearance; from head to toe. And after seeing a dark spot on her neck, his jaw clenched.

"You've been practicing black magic," he stated. A black spot can determine whether that person is practicing a black magic. As for Frizella, there's a black spot peeking on her neck that stretches to her back. Who knows how big it is.

The bigger the dark spot, the stronger black magic.

Frizella laughed wickedly. "Why? Are you going to kill me?" Ytrius squinted his eyes while Frizella laughed again. Her laugh sounds like a witch's; it's scary.

"Oh right, I am no exemption since you never loved me."

"All of this just because I never loved you? Really, Frizella? You wasted yourself just because of me!"

She scoffed. "At least, you are aware. At first, yes. I did everything I can and looked for a way to kick Thiane out, however, what I found is a crucial information." Frizella walked away from the window then faced Ytrius.

"I thought, if I use that information to blackmail your family, then our wedding will continue. Even if I'm just a concubine," Frizella continued then she snorted. "Of course, I was not satisfied but that can do for now. I can just look for more information against the imperial family."

Ytrius' face looked serious while listening to Frizella's story; which a thing that he never did before.

"When I found out about Thiane's power, I thought that will be my game over. But I didn't gave up. Fortunately, I found something more interesting." Frizella's lips turned into a menacing smile.

"About Malaia and Sabria." She leaned towards Ytrius then tilted her head. "What do you think people will say when they found out the truth? Hmm?" She raised her eyebrows, as if waiting for Ytrius to answer.

"The fact that the imperial family are using black magic is not even crucial, you know. It's about you and your goddess' hypocrisy!"

Ytrius knows what exactly Frizella is referring to.

"You succumb yourself to the black magic," Ytrius spoke.

"You think that Thiane's death will stop the catastrophe but no." Frizella shaked her head. "She died because she was on my way. You thought that was heroic but I think it was foolish." She grinned.

Ytrius' fist clenched after hearing those words and his teeth are clenching too. When Frizella saw his reaction, she grinned even more.

"She died for nothing." Frizella said those words carefully, to let Ytrius realize that Thiane's death is just a simple death; it was not a significant death.

"I'm gonna kill you," Ytrius said angrily which only made Frizella got thrilled with excitement.

"Don't you think it is too early for a fight? We have a lot to talk to, Ytrius."

"What do you what?"

Frizella smirked and she tilted her head teasingly. "Why? Will you give it to me?" She was smirking but it slowly disappeared. The look on her eyes changed, she looks at Ytrius as if he's a prey to catch.

"I want the empire and the throne."

Ytrius' breath became heavy as the situation became more dangerous. It is his fault by underestimating Frizella. He only saw her as a corrupted woman because of love but then, she turned out into something far from what he thought.

Frizella was once a sweet and kind woman. People also loved her for that and they respected her as she also came from a notable family.

But after she got turned down by Ytrius, after her ambitions were fed, and after finding a lot of secrets; she became greedy and did all the bad things. That even from the prophesy, she will start a catastrophe.

"What exactly is your plan, Frizella?" Ytrius thought that, maybe, he is at fault too.

"It's simple. I will get the throne, even if I have to kill you." Ytrius scoffed. He never thought that everything will turn like this. Now, he's starting to doubt whether his past choices were right.

Frizella sighs. "You will give me the throne or I will do whatever's in the prophesy."

When Ytrius didn't spoke, Frizella sat down. "Do you really think you can stop me? I have all of the advantage here. Every plan I have has a corresponding plan. I am not dumb, Ytrius. How did you think I found out those secrets?"

"You are going to summon Sabria and cause the destruction of this empire; leading millions of life to death. Is that what you really want?"

Frizella's eyebrown twitched. "So that is what will happen in Thiane's prophesy." Even though the prophesy is all about Frizella, she never knew what Thiane saw. Only she's aware about the catastrophe.

"That's right. You know... Azelaine was supposed to be the sacrifice for Sabria but your son hindered my plan." She shrugged her shoulders. "Oh well, she is a hollow, so I guess it is good that she didn't marry Pierre."

Ytrius' eyebrow furrowed. All this time, they kept it a secret that Azelaine is a hollow so how come she knows that too? But it also bothers Ytrius that she mentioned Pierre's marriage.

"Are you saying that you will sacrifice Celestia instead of Azelaine?"

"Sooner or later." Frizella grinned.
