Chapter Fourty-Two

I never knew that a sparring between two commanders is this nerve-wracking. I felt so unease but expectant when they said that the commanders are only allowed to use their powers to spar.

As someone who hasn't seen Prince Urus' powers, I'm excited to see what will he show to us. Although the knights are cheering for him.

While the other knights are also cheering for Cain. Unlike Prince Urus, I know Cain's ability well.

It's cryokinesis, a total opposite of Duke Laurenze's ability. Cain has a vast control field because of the nature of his power. Although using a wider control can still drain the energy.

I have seen Cain used his ability and I must say that he has a great control of it. No matter what is the situation of the battle, he can easily turn the table and make it to his favor.

A heavy sigh escaped my mouth after a knight blew the whistle. The fight has started.

Cain turned the ground into an ice and he infused his magic to his sword. It is now glowing with the energy of an ice and it's also smoking because of the cold.

He started moving but Prince Urus stayed on his spot, right where he's standing.

Why is he not moving?

I heard a chuckle beside me. "Relax, Your highness. Don't you trust your husband?" It's Xiel. Another idiot that I haven't seen for a while after he lead us to the infirmary a few days ago.

Cain is already close to Prince Urus but suddenly, a big scythe has appeared on his hand. It's a black scythe, taller than him, and the blade looks terrifying. A hint of red color can be seen, as if it's the blood of his enemies bathing the scythe.

I have never seen a power like this before.

"Oh? He never took that out unless he's fighting against an S-tier monster," Xiel commented after seeing his cousin took out a big scythe.

"Took that out? What do you mean?"

"His ability is weaponry, a befitting ability for a person like him; a commander knight and a crown prince," he answered. Xiel explained Prince Urus' ability further.

So basically, Prince Urus can produce any weapon to his liking. It is indeed a very convenient abilty.

"Looks like he wants to show off, Your highness." Xiel laughed but I just glared at him. This fight might be serious that's why he took that scythe out. There's no reason why Prince Urus wanted to show off.

When Cain saw the weapon, he immediately backed out and made a thick wall made of ice. Prince Urus swung his scythe and a harsh wind suddenly brushed through the crowd.

Oh. Is that why he told me to stay somewhere safe?

With just a single swing of that scythe, the wall was broken into half as if it's a paper. A single swing already contains a lot of power.

Now I know why they said that he can immediately dominates a battle. Prince Urus is undeniably strong.

The scythe disappeared and Cain took it a chance to attack Prince Urus; but then, another sword made its appearance. It's still the same color with the scythe. Prince Urus blocked Cain's attack with the sword and they both backed out.

And with a blink of an eye, both of them started to attack each other. The clashing sound of the swords are loud and yet, it is pleasing to our ears.

Each attack has a wave of energy that blows through the crowd. Luckily, I wasn't caught by the wave.

Prince Urus has a powerful raw strength and yet Cain can withstand it with his infused sword. No one can really tell who is stronger between the two. I can't even catch their movements well since they move so fast.

"Cain is not backing down, huh?" Xiel commented.

"Are the commanders this strong?"

He hummed. "Pretty much, yes. But if we're talking about physical strength, Urus will win."

The only reason why the other commanders can withstand Prince Urus is because of their abilities. If they are not allowed to use their powers, then Prince Urus is much stronger than them.

"The only one who is as strong as Urus in every aspect is definitely the commander of Golden Xazuiqiel, Commander Gawain Arthoion," Xiel said.

Golden Xazuiqiel is the elite knights that directly answers and only answers to the emperor. And its commander is the father of Empress Thiane and head of the Arthoion dukedom, Commander Duke Gawain Arthoion. Also, Xiel and Prince Urus' grandfather.

I heard about the Golden Xazuiqiel before and everyone is praising them, no one has ever said a bad thing about them.

"What is the commander's ability?"

"Hmm? You mean, grandfather? It's nothing much but he can manipulate shadows." Nothing much? And yet, he said that Commander Arthoion is as strong as Prince Urus.

Prophesy. Weaponry. Space. And now, shadows. The house of Arthoion are full of powerful people. I wonder how was the case in the house of Harckion.

All of the knights exclaimed when Cain's sword broke into pieces while Prince Urus' sword remained unscathed. I held my breath when Prince Urus' scythe came back but now, there's a red energy infused around it.

"You're going overboard, Your highness!" Someone shouted but they all laughed, contradicting to what they said.

With just one swing of that scythe, I know that Cain can't take it especially now that his sword is broken. Having a weapon is one of the essentials in order to control an ability. Since Cain broke his sword, it might be hard for him. The next attack can seriously injure Cain.

I bit my lip. Prince Urus prepared himself to attack but Cain is not doing anything. He just stood there, looking fierce and ready to take any attack.

Is he crazy?!

I stood up and was about to announce to halt the fight but Xiel stopped me. My eyebrows are furrowed.

"You can't stop it, Your highness."

Prince Urus attacked and a wave of energy was unleashed. Cain blocked himself by using the wall of ice but a blood splashed all over the training grounds. Everyone gasps.

"Prince Pierre!" Everyone was surprised to see his sudden appearance right in front of the field.

Without thinking, I raw towards him.
