Trigger warning: Suicide attempt , Blood

----

As days passes by, my life became more and more miserable. Each days is torturous with emotional abuse and cold treatment from then people around me. Especially from my father.

Seeing him and Celestia laughing together is enough to cause distress to me. The fact that I was locked up in my room; I am only allowed to go out if there is an invitation from the palace.

I stared at the food on my table. The meat is dry and cold, I can also smell the sourness coming from the soup. My lips twitched.

This food is clearly spoiled.

I grabbed the tray, along with the food and threw it outside of the window. There was a crashing sound that made the servants gasped.

How dare they serve me spoiled foods?!

I also threw the glass on the wall and it shattered into pieces. My stomach is making a sound as it cries because of hunger. There are tears escaped from my eyes, making my eyes blur.

"Ah!" I shouted in pain. I was walking towards my bed but unfortunately, there is a piece of glass on the floor.

The blood flowed from the wound and it made a small pool of blood on the floor. I fell on my knees as my body feel weaker because of the pain.

I shut my eyes tightly while I slowly pull the glass out. It hurts so much that I feel like fainting. The glass also made small cuts on my fingers as I pull it out.

Beads of sweat on my forehead and gasping for air, I never knew that a time like this will come. A time where I feel so helpless.

I cried my heart out, silently and painfully. I am all alone in this room and no one can even hear me hurting.

No one can see me because they all refused to look at me.

Where did everything started to go wrong?

When I threatened Celestia with an arrow? When the crown prince announced me as his fiancee? When Prince Pierre abandoned me? Or when my father started to neglect me?

I don't know anymore.

I started to feel tired and my vision has become blurry. I glanced at the piece of glass in my hand. A smirk formed on my lips when the thought came in my mind.

Well, I guess might as well as end this abuse.

The glass went on my neck and it made a cut. Blood started to rush out of my skin and my body started to feel cold. I fell on the floor and my vision turned black.

--

Prince Urus abruptly turned his head. Confusion washed through his face and Xiel noticed it. He walked towards Urus and asked him, "Are you alright?"

"I though someone whispered on my ear," Urus answered. His hand went to his ear and softly touched it. There was a weird sensation and it makes him feel creeped out.

Xiel roamed his eyes around them but there was no one near Urus at that time. How can someone whisper on his ear? But a thought came to his mind and he smiled wickedly.

Urus' forehead creased. "Stop."

"Maybe it was someone you slept with before and cast a spell on you."

"I haven't slept with anyone before," Urus retorted. Xiel laughed at him.

"Oh really? You haven't slept with her?" Xiel motioned his head towards a beautiful woman. She has a long violet hair and a pair of gray eyes; it's Cavelia, vice commander of the knights.

Cavelia Treuvoui is a daughter of a count under the Arthoion duchy. She joined the knights at the age of 18 and became the vice commander when she turned 20. Urus is only a year older than her.

Urus can't deny that Cavelia is close with him, the reason why the knights kept linking them together.

There was a time when they celebrated a victory party and knights decided to drink heavy liquors. They kept on pushing Cavelia and Urus together and as a result, they both became drunk.

Due to the heat of alcohol, they spent a night together. Only that Urus can't exactly remember what happened.

Urus sigh. "It was almost a year ago and Cavelia's magic is chains."

After that, Urus ignored Xiel who kept blabbering unnecessary things. He walked out and went to the near lake to take a bath.

He started to remove his clothes as he walk closer to the lake. The cold and yet soothing water touched his feet then up to his abdomen.

It's been two months since they started their escaped and it's been almost four months since he announced Lady Laurenze as his fiancee. Until now, Urus can't help but wonder if he made a right choice.

"Is the water cold?" Urus was startled but he kept composed. He turned his head and saw Cavelia, almost naked. Her knight robe is the only thing that is draped on her shoulders.

Urus turned his head away. "It is," he simply answered.

But that did not stopped Cavelia from going down the lake. She removed her robe and swam towards Urus but he avoided her.

"Cavelia." It came out like a warning.

"What? It's just the two of us here."

Urus only sigh and shut his eyes. He tried going up but Cavelia stopped him, her hand is wrapped around his arm. Urus only gave it a brief look.

"Remove your hand, Vice commander Treuvoui," Urus commanded with authority. Her lips gaped but she didn't protested and let go of him. Urus went up from the lake and grabbed his clothes.

"You should have chosen me as your fiancee, Your Highness. You know that I love you." There is desperation laced on her voice but Urus is not affected by it, not even a bit.

He looked at her. "And you know that I feel nothing about you. You are just a friend and a colleague to me. I hope I'm making myself clear, Vice commander Treuvoui." It was cold but Urus don't want any complications in his work and even in his personal life. Being the crown prince itself is twisted enough.

"Yes, Your Highness."

Urus turned his back and went to his designated tent.
