Chapter Fourty-One

A few days later, I just did some office works since I can't do physical activities. Prince Urus is checking me from time to time and he also said that Cavelia was punished.

He didn't have to do that since it's a spar between knights and it shouldn't be taken seriously.

I'm almost fully recovered so I decided to go out and check on the White Preveur. Thebion and Adrius, our vice commander, left Azeroth under the emperor's command, leaving the battalion unattended.

"Your highness! Are you sure it's alright for you to move?" Fiona went beside me. I chuckled.

"I'm fine, Fiona." It's not like I lost my limbs.

"But Prince Urus might get angry for letting you walk around," she said but I ignored her.

I'm walking around the Ezckelian Palace when I saw Prince Pierre walking towards my direction. A few days have passed since the last time I saw him. There is always a strange atmosphere around us whenever we're at the same place.

The way he looks at me with those regretful eyes is making me want to tear my hair out. It's frustrating and bothering me.

"Greetings, Your highness." I bowed my head as a sign of respect.

"Greetings, Princess Azelaine."

After his 21st birthday, he will finally be entangled with Celestia. It's still painful to think that it was supposed to be me, that should have been my place but someone stole it away from me.

Whenever I think of it, I can't help but pity Prince Pierre. I admit that I was exasperated after he turned his back on me but after giving it a thought, he must have abandoned me out of his mother's command. As I will no longer be use for them since I will soon betrothed to other.

It's there again; his regretful and melancholic eyes whenever he looks at me. I gaped my mouth to say something but a small voice suddenly called him out.

"Papa!" A little girl came running towards her father with small steps and her face is lighted up with a smile.

What an adorable child.

Prince Pierre turned to his daughter, Princess Mellie, and spread his arms to welcome her with a hug. Mellie giggled after reaching her father.

"What are you doing here, Mellie?"

"Papa!" The child answered. Prince Pierre's lips formed into a smile and gently caressed his daughter's chubby cheeks.

I didn't know what happened between Celestia and Prince Pierre, all I know is that the queen planned this out of the prince's will. His attitude towards Celestia is the proof itself that he never wanted this to happened.

But while I'm watching them, I must say that he's a good father.

I smiled. "You looks like a good father, Your highness," I commented. But after seeing Prince Pierre's smile fell, I realized that I should have not mentioned it.

"Thank you, Princess."

My eyes fell on the adorable child. I feel bad as I'm one of the reasons why she is labeled as an illegitimate child. I used my authority to forbid her parents' wedding. An innocent child was affected by my anger but nothing can undo it until her parents are married.

Fiona and I excused ourselves and went to the training ground. Fortunately, the White Preveur doesn't need any commands.

"Your highness, are you alright? Have you finally recovered?" Sidric, one of the youngest member of White Preveur, asked. I hear that he's only seventeen and yet, his performance as a knight is also oustanding.

"I'm fine. It still aches but it's bearable."

The knights took a break from their training to have their afternoon snack. Only the White Preveur and Cyan Waiylc are here.

My forehead creased. "Did Prince Urus left with Black Zierg?"

"Yes, Your highness. They left this morning and from what I heard, they will be back this afternoon," Sidric answered.

Is that why I didn't saw him this morning? Prince Urus tends to check on me every morning and sometimes he brought a breakfast for me. But this morning, it wasn't the case.

Sidric and I were having a chat when I saw Cain from afar. He is walking towards the training grounds. When his head turned to my direction, I waved my hand on him but he suddenly turned left. My eyebrows furrowed especially when he went back to our direction.

What is he doing?

"Oh! They are here," Sidric murmured. My eyes looked on the left and it turns out that the Black Zierg has arrived.

"Good afternoon, Your highness." Cain grinned at me.

"I haven't seen you for a while." I stared at him. Why does it feel like he's avoiding me? Didn't he just changed his direction after seeing me earlier? He just went back because the Black Zierg has arrived.

"Well, you're locked up in your room, Your highness. How am I supposed to see you?"

Ah.

"You can just visit me like what you did before." Cain usually visits me at the Therilian Palace and have a cup of tea. But after my wedding with Prince Urus, he seldomly sees me.

Cain didn't answered and just watched the Black Zierg to settle on the training grounds.

Then I saw Prince Urus riding his horse. "Take some rest," he commanded. A knight went to him and said something. I bet he told him that I'm here since he looked at my direction and his face darkened

Am I in trouble? He strictly told me to stay put in my office but I disobeyed him.

He dismount from the horse and walked briskly towards me. "Are you alright? How did you get in here? Is there anything that hurts?" He bombarded me as soon as he nears me.

"Uh... I walked..." I stated the obvious. "But don't worry, Your highness. I am totally fine," I continued.
He sighed in relief.

"Your highness," Cain suddenly called beside me. "Why don't we start our sparring?" He challenged. My eyes widened at how brazen Cain is. He just challenged Prince Urus on a sparring. Is he insane?

"Alright. But I have to send Princess Azelaine to her chambers first."

"I-I want to watch." I gulped. "I want to watch you fight."

I have never seen Prince Urus fight nor his ability. All I know is he's strong and can easily dominated the battle field; all thanks to the rumors I knew this simple information.

He stared at me. "Alright, but watch somewhere safe so you won't get caught by it."

It? What does he mean? Is he going to unleash some bomb or whatever?
