The day is peaceful like how it was for the past days. Sun is shining so bright and breeze is calming as it brushes through my skin. A low and steady sigh came out of my lips as I stare outside of the window.

"The festival is just around the corner. Do you have any plans?" I walked away from the windows and then sat on then chair beside Urus.

Melieanan Festival happens yearly, where it celebrates the foundation of the empire. Everyone and even people from the neighboring kingdoms and empires are invited to come here in Meliean. It's such a big event for us.

Urus sigh. "Laurenze dukedom will be the host for this year's festival." My forehead creased.

"Did mother insisted?"

"Yeah, she did. She won't even stop bothering me until I agreed with her proposal." Urus chuckled in defeat. I only smiled and then caressed his hair.

It's been two years ever since he explained to me the secret of the imperial family.

It's true that they use black magic but they avoids it as much as possible. Just like what he said before, a great power also have its consequences. Although, some members of the imperial family does not practice it either.

He also said that only the emperors and the powerful members of the imperial family who practices black magic.

And when a normal person tries to practice black magic, their body will show black spots that can get larger on how much black magic they possess. But in their case, imperial families do not have those black spots.

Urus also told me that they won't kill a person just because they practices black magic. Only those people who has been corrupted by the black magic are killed in order to protect the kingdom and its people. However, everyone who can use black magic are easily corrupted, thus the result why they were killed.

When he explained all of that to me, I understands it completely and stopped doubting. Queen Frizella's words were true but I guess, she only looked on the bad side.

"You seems tired. Are you alright?" He asked me which made turn back to reality.

I shaked my head. "Maybe because of the training? But yeah, I am fine," I answered him. He turned his head to me and looked at me with concern.

"You can take some rest." He glanced at the window. The sun has already settled and darkness has started to invade the sky. "Let's have dinner first." He held my hand and gently pulled me for a walk. As we walk through the hallway, we have a conversation about our day.

The conversation are full of laughter and I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts with him. For the past two years, our bond has deepened. Maybe because I realized my feelings for him.

However, I haven't confessed to him yet. On his upcoming birthday, perhaps?

I want his birthday this year will be unforgettable. Besides, I am ready to share a bed with him. We've been married for three years now and nothing happened between us yet.

Even the nobles are gossiping; wondering why I am not pregnant after all those years. There is an information circling around that one of us might be infertile, which is ridiculous.

When I told that to Urus, he told me to ignore those insignificant gossips since they are not true. But what moved me is when he told me that he won't force me sharing a bed with him if I am not ready yet. He will respect me if I don't want to and he also said that conceiving a child is not my only role.

But I know that I still have to carry his child; the future heir of the throne.

"Do you want to do something in the festival? I can make time for you."

I hummed. "Nothing. However, I do have plans on your birthday." I smiled widely at him. His birthday is still a month away but I started planning on it.

"Alright, on my birthday then."

The servants took out our dinner and as usual, we enjoyed our dinner while having a conversation.

After we ate our dinner, Urus brought me back to the Therilian Palace and up to my chambers. It is his routine to take me back here every time he finished his works or when I finish my works.

He waited for me until I finished taking a bath. I sat in front of the vanity mirror to dry my hair but he stole the towel from me.

"Father haven't left his room this day," he suddenly spoke.

"Maybe he's just resting."

He sighs. "I will visit him tomorrow morning to consult about the upcoming festival."

"I'll come with you," I suggested but he shake his head to disagree. He kissed my hair then continued drying it with a towel.

"I appreciate it but I can do it alone. Take some rest since you have been continuously training these past few days. You might strain your body."

He's always the one who worries between us and also the one who usually takes care of me. Sometimes, I feel bad because I couldn't do the same with him. But of course, I still get worried and takes care of him. I'm just not that vulgar unlike him.

I turned to him and wrapped my arms around his neck to pull him towards me. My lips planted a soft kiss on his which left him dumbfounded.

I giggled. "Thank you."

His face flushed which made me laugh even more. He cleared his throat and stopped me from laughing. Our night ends well and I hope when the morning comes, everything is well too.
