Friday, May 1988

Atlanta

Arriving at school the next morning, I felt happy and nervous, I knew why but I just didn't want to accept it. Getting out of my car I felt like I was being watched, I looked up and saw that Matt was staring at me. I quickly turned away and just ignored his stare as I grabbed my bags. Quickly closing and locking my door I walked into the school building or well-tried

"Camila!" Matt yelled

I ignored him and just walked away straight into the school and to my locker. God what did I ever see in him, I thought shaking my head. Putting my things away in my locker, I stood there calming myself down, that's when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Ryker

"Good Morning!" I said smiling "you ready for our tutoring session today?" I asked

He smiled back at me "morning and no I am not, but I am ready to practice with Wilde Fire" he said happily, I laughed "well that is going to have to wait because you have a history test coming up for Mr. Garrett's class" I said

He sighed "fine, but can we hang out after?" He asked nervously but boldly

I smiled and nodded "yeah, we can hang out," I said "but that doesn't mean we are slacking off on your tutoring sessions"

He laughed "noted," he said smiling "but I'll see you later, I have to at least get to class on time now"

I giggled "that is very true, you and I both," I said " have a good day"

"You as well darling," he said and then walked away with a smirk on his face

I shook my head and laughed to myself as I closed my locker, that's when Stephanie came up to me

"Camila! What was that?" She asked looking in the direction of Ryker

"Uhh good morning to you too, and that's just Ryker Wilde," I said looking at her confused, "isn't that the freak?" She asked

"He is not a freak Steph, he's an actual human being and he's nice," I told her "what did Matt tell you to interrogate me?" I asked

"What no! Wait what happened between you and Matt? I saw you didn't arrive at school together" she asked, I sighed and pulled her into the girl's bathroom

"Matt and I broke up yesterday," I told her bluntly, she gasped "no," she said

I nodded "but I think it was for the best," I said, "he said some thing's yesterday and I just snapped"

"Why did you guys break up?" She asked me sadly

I sighed, one thing to know about Stephanie she was the one who brought Matt and I together and she was always supportive and rooting for us. "It was over me tutoring Ryker and how he was just using me for his reputation as he said," I told her "and before you say shit, just know I don't care what anyone thinks"

"Camila, I'm fine with you tutoring Ryker he's cute," she said smirking, I rolled my eyes "but I don't know what the rest of the cheer squad will think"

I sighed "well fuck it, I'm the cheer captain and you're my co-captain if they figure out and give me shit their out of the squad," I said walking out of the bathroom and to English class

"Cami you can't do that, not with the championship game coming up," Stephanie said running to catch up with me, I sighed she was right "fine and besides I  know everyone already knows since Ryker came up to me this morning," I said

The warning bell then rang and we arrived to class at with 5 minutes left till class started.

"Well if it makes you feel better Matt is a douchebag," Stephanie said, "and whatever happens with Ryker you know I'm going to be behind it no matter what!" She said happily
