"Hey (YN)!" Mei approached me with a cheer, dragging a tired, yet excited MK behind her.
"Mei, MK." I greeted with a nod. "What are you doing out so late?"
Mei smiled even wider. "We're going to the anti-gravity arcade! Wanna join us?"
I thought for a moment, but ended up refusing, as much as I was curious. "I'm sorry Mei, MK, but I still have patrol. Maybe some other time?"
Mei pouted but shook her head in understanding. "Okay, see ya then (YN)." She waved goodbye and dragged MK away with her.
I went the opposite way, parkouring from rooftop to rooftop.
I went the opposite way, parkouring from rooftop to rooftop. I jumped over the railing of an apartment building, landing on another roof just before the end of it, where there were a series of large metal pipes jutting out of the ground. I ran towards the edge of the building, vaulting across them, leaping over two more, before falling onto the ground with a thud. The impact sent a shockwave through my body, leaving me feeling like I'd been thrown off the highest cliff imaginable.
"Woah! Where'd you learn to do that?" A sly voice asked out.
My eyes darted upwards towards the voice and widened at what I saw. There, sitting on top of one of the buildings was a shadow figure of a strange demon.
"I've trained a lot. Nothing that special." I replied blandly. The figure hummed in amusement. "Doesn't seem like nothing special."
I rolled my eyes. "I don't see why this concerns you. I don't even know you." I could make out the figure shrugging. "Eh, good point."
"Alright. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things I need to do." I ran down and out the alleyway I landed in, merging in with the bustling walkways and hopefully out of sight from the strange figure.

This went on for a few more days, I go on patrol, encounter Mei and MK (who seems more sleep deprived the more I see him), and somehow encounter that strange figure in the darkness.
One day, however, was different. That day was today, and I woke up with a bad feeling in my stomach. I sensed something was wrong.
I stood up and left my room, ignoring having breakfast now so I can get something at Pigsy's and tell someone about it, hopefully MK isn't too busy so I can speak to him.
After easily making my way to the noodle restaurant, I went inside. "Hello Mr.Tang."
"Hm? Oh, (YN) what a pleasant surprise!" Tang greeted me, bowl of noodles already in his hands. "What are you doing here?"
"Thought I'd have something quick for breakfast. Is MK around?" I asked him. Tang shook his head. "No, he's been out delivering all day."
"Hey (YN), nice to see ya." Pigsy came in from the kitchen. "Heard ya need breakfast."
I nodded. "Yes, I think I'll just have what Mr.Tang's having."
Pigsy nodded and went back into the back, coming back minutes later with a fresh bowl of noodles and some chopsticks.
"Alright, here you—." His phone began ringing. He handed me my noodles before answering. "Pigsy's Noodles, home of the worlds longest noo—." He was cut off by the person on the other end, his smile shifting to a confused, then angry face.
"What do you mean they were never delivered!?" He asked, but another call came in and he answered that one. "Seriously!? What is that boy doing..." Pigsy growled.
