Ten years later.

It has some long scientific name but most people just call it ‘The Cure’. It’s a gas and canisters of it are leaked everywhere. Electricity comes on again but nothing goes back to normal. The government desperately tries to get a hold on public control but rebel groups have taken over and the government has no power. After Lucas… after Lucas the remaining four found the safe place. It was an underground group called ‘hellfire’. Life there is bleak and laborious.

After three years Nancy and Robin tie the knot. They're formally Mrs Robin and Nancy Buckley-Wheeler.
The ceremony was small consisting of Max, El, Will Byers who they found at this safe haven, Hopper and Joyce who had been so thankful to everyone who kept El safe, Steve who Robin was overwhelmed to see again thinking she'd lost him a couple of years ago to the infection, turns out it was just food poisoning and he'd been so sick he couldn't get back to where they were staying, by the time he could Robin had to move on having told Steve about Vickie and about how she had to leave her there and about how she met Nancy along the way and Murray who officiated their wedding.

Max and El seem to be thriving in camp hellfire. Max spends her time training and she’s beyond terrifying, she can wield pretty much any blade, can shoot different types of guns and had even picked up the skill of how to fight with a very large very intimidating stick. Nancy thought she only did it to intimidate her though because she was still very protective over Robin. It was working the redhead is intense even if they're technically family now.
El on the other hand had earned herself a leadership position although Robin’s not entirely sure what it entails.

Robin had settled down with Nancy — a kid on the way. They found out they were having a boy and decided to name him Luca in honour of Lucas.

They find themselves comfortable and even though they know there's still so much work to do they decided to have a break because they deserve it, they deserve the world not ending every time they try and relax.

When Nancy realised they had electricity again she is searching news articles, Google heck even Wikipedia.
She's got her journalistic flair back and after all she's seen and being 5 months pregnant she needs something to keep her mind from wandering.

So she searches and searches and she sometimes finds herself going back to the old Hawkins archives where there are photos of Mike and Holly and her family all smiling. That's how she decided to remember them, those smiles and she smiles herself as she feels a slight kick from her stomach putting her hand there to rub the little feet hitting her from within.

Robin brings her arms around her wife and smiles at what she's looking at, Nancy brings one of her hands down to her stomach and holds it there as Robins face lights up feeling the tiny kicks of life.
