Third Person POV.

You soon found that it wasn't at all easy being known as the second girl to arrive to the Glade.

Teresa, a blue eyed dark haired girl with a petite looking figure, seemed to have most boys almost wrapped around her finger. Intentionally or not, it wasn't easy to get any attention.

And to be honest, you hate that you have to strive for it. Not with everyone, most Gladers could appreciate you both separately and for your differences, but the ones that mattered still had some kind of distrust about you.

That's probably because of your long-lasting first impression, jumping out of the Box ready to attack anyone who touched you.

But you had reasoned that that could be easily understood, you were trapped in a dark Box with no recollection of who you were; you were afraid. It's in the past, but for some it isn't, unfortunately, and that makes you the target of most inconveniences.

Since you arrived though, one boy in particular didn't seem to take your reaction to coming to the Glade as distrustful.

You appreciated it. Thomas welcomed you fairly and equally, and didn't judge, or misjudge for that matter, you for those first actions.

You tried to befriend him, and even though he does consider you a friend now, you want to become closer.

But it's hard when Teresa is around.

There must just be something about her.

She's pretty, you'll admit, prettier than yourself.

Mysterious.

Kind.

Smart.

She can talk to Thomas about anything, and they work together on almost everything. You get your moments with him, but they seem almost fleeting.

You hate to admit it, but it's the truth, you're downright jealous of Teresa.

You're brought out of your thoughts of the Glade as Teresa taps you on the shoulder, a friendly smile on her face, "Y/N, I was wondering if I could ask a favour?" You smile back, knowing it would be petty to produce glares and dirty looks whenever she's around, "Sure, what do you need?"

"Could you take this fertiliser out to the Deadheads? Just dump it somewhere near the trees, thanks." You nod, and lift the sack of fertiliser over your shoulder and carry it towards the patch of trees where the Glader's bury their past.

You never deny Teresa's requests for help, as her being the first girl here and well-liked by others sort of intimidates you.

You're sure you would stand up for yourself to her if the situation ever arose, but her passive-aggressiveness doesn't call for that.
