I sat on the couch beside Max as I continued explaining what I had seen in the void, having calmed down after the experience, "He said he was building something. That it was all for me."
"Building something... is he talking about the flayed?" Max asked.
"He must be," Nancy confirmed from where she stood with Jonathan in the corner of the room.
"So he's building an army just like we thought," Lucas murmured while he paced behind the couch.
"Yeah, but he's not building this army to spread." Mike began from his place on a stool in front of the couch.
"He's building it to stop Eleven." Will finished his sentence.
"Last year, El closed the gate on him. I have a feeling that really pissed him off."
"Like, royally." Lucas nodded at Mike's statement.
"And the Mind Flayer now knows that she's the only thing that can stop him. But if she's out of the way-"
"Game over." Lucas finished his thoughts.
"He also said he was gonna kill all of you," I spoke softly, scared for the sake of my friends.
"Yeah, well, that's nice," Max spoke as she crossed her arms. Our conversation seemed to stop as we heard weird sounds outside, so loud that they could be heard over the fireworks.
"Do you guys hear that?" Nancy whispered as she approached the window.
"It's just the fireworks," Jonathan assured us.
"Billy... when he told you this, it was here, in this room?" Nancy asked me.
I nodded as more thuds and crashing sounds came from the woods.
"He knows we're here," Will warned us as his eyes widened.
We all then ran out the front door, Jonathan in the lead, trying to escape before the Mind Flayer got to us. But, it was then that we noticed it.
A monster like the one we had fought at the hospital last night- only much larger and screeching much louder- was approaching from far away.
We all ran back in the front door before Nancy and Jonathan went out to Hopper's shed in search of any weapons while the rest of us did our best to barricade the windows and doors, preparing for the Mind Flayer to arrive.
"Yeah, that's good, like that," Mike told me as he helped me press a bench up against the window, much like the others were doing.
"Hey! Get away from the windows!" Nancy warned us as soon as we were ready.
"It's close," Will warned as the lights flickered and the house trembled, me shaking alongside it. The sounds outside grew louder and louder and louder until-
BOOM!
A tentacle came through the wall causing us to scream, screech, and scatter from where we stood. I backed into a wall in front of Max and Will trying to escape the monster. The Mind Flayer followed me through the house before Jonathan attacked it with his ax, but it did not end up doing much. Jonathan kept hitting it with the ax as it screeched, stopping only to swing at Jonathan and knock him into the walls, the ax falling from his hands on the way.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
The gunshots sounded from Nancy's gun before the creature backed her into the wall, going after her. The lights began to flicker as I raced forward to pull the monster back and tear apart the tentacle invading my home and attacking my friends. The screeching claw fell to the ground, before abruptly rising up and racing out of the hole in the wall.
