day twelve!

the boys and luna were sitting around in a circle, they sat on some logs. luna was in between josh and kirin as he stood. "starvation is a notoriously horrific way to die" henry said. the group was running out of food.

luna looked over at josh, as he was smelling the salsa he had brought. he looked over at her, moving the salsa up to her nose so she could smell it as well. she nodded, "damn i wish i had some chips right now" she sighed.

"right up there with radiation poisoning and crucifixion..." henry continued. "jesus, could you not? no ones fuckin' starving to death" kirin interrupted.

luna watched as he leaned down, "this can't be all that's left, can it? that seems impossible" he added as he looked around at the small amount of food they had left.

"yeah, i'm sorry. i just, uh.. it can't end like this for me. i mean, my mom doesn't even know where to look for my novella, so how am i supposed to be published posthumously, hmm? it's on my google drive, mother. just click on the second folder marked "novella w-i-p" ivan rambled, luna looked over at him before glancing at all the boys. "shut up, taylor! we'll be fine. we just need to slow down on the food since obviously rescues not.." kirin paused as he looked over at luna then at ivan. "..since they're taking longer than we thought" luna sighed, as she thought how they would never be found and would be here until the worst happened. she fidgeted with her necklace as she brought her knees to her chest.

there was a moment of silence before josh spoke up, "we could play a game, like, a distraction. i always play my xbox when i want to stop snacking on refined sugars. my nutritionist encourages it"

luna looked over at josh as he spoke, "not a bad call. any suggestions?" seth asked, looking around at the others.

"hell no"

"oh, maybe a theater game. something that will expose us"

"definitely no theater"

"okay, awesome. how about two truths and a lie?" josh asked everyone.

"sounds cool. i'll play" raf replied as he walked towards the group.

"yes, rafe all day"

"hey, take a seat. it's "raf" seth corrected.

"get out of here, raf?"

"yeah"

"i love it" josh chuckled, "anyway, you know the game, right? you say two truths and a lie, and then we guess which is which. where you're from they might call it something different, like dos verdades... das verdades.." josh rambled, luna put her hand lightly on his shoulder stopping him from talking, "you know josh, i think he gets it" she cringed and raf nodded.

"okay. so, like, uh, i go to school in san diego, but i live in tijuana"

"ah, that one's true. he's a crosser. it's actually really admirable"

"raf, man, you're not supposed to say something that somebody can immediately confirm" scotty spoke up, she looked over at him, he had a camera in his hands that he was messing with earlier. "that's just bad gameplay"

"unless he and josh are colluding" bo replied and scotty let out a laugh. "oh, shit, fuck. i love a good game of wits. please, continue" luna smiled as she watched scotty pretend to zip his mouth.

"secondly.. my girlfriend's family actually owns this salsa company" raf continued as he picked up the jar of salsa that josh had sat on top of the open suitcase.

kirin scoffed, "that's bullshit" luna shrugged, "i don't know, it might be true" luna said, nudging kirin's arm playfully, "you never know" she added. looking up at kirin, as he was squatting down beside her. he looked at her with a small smile, rolling his eyes back playfully. his smile dropping as she looked away.
