trigger warning!

day sixteen!

"you okay?" luna was brought out of her thoughts as she heard the only person she would wanna talk to right now ask. she just shrugged, wiping her eyes, wiping away any tears that fell.

kirin sat down beside of her, hesitating before wrapping his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into him. "wanna talk about it?"

she began to speak but she couldn't as she let out a sob, she put her hands over her face and just cried. she was so tired, and scared but kirin made her feel safe.

kirin rubbed his hand along her arm, holding her tighter as she let her emotions out. he didn't mind, he just wanted her to feel okay again. he hated that he couldn't do anything else except sit there and comfort her while she sobbed. he placed a soft kiss on her forehead as he played with her hair. he waited there patiently with her, waiting for her to calm down.

-

luna's breath slowed as she began to calm down, she had stopped crying. the two still sat with each other. she was now facing kirin, their legs touching. kirin reached up gently wiping away any tears that were left on her sunburnt face.

luna sighed before she began to tell kirin everything. she told him about her father, the drinking, the partying, the couch hopping, the night she was raped, her father calling the police, and anything else that led up to her being here.

kirin didn't say anything, he just listened to every word. it honestly hurt him when she talked about the abuse and the assault, he didn't understand how anyone could do that to her or to anyone.

"you're so fucking strong, luna."

-

the two eventually went back to the group, everyone was sitting under or around the tent. it was quiet and you could hear the insects chirping. luna sat beside kirin, as she rested against him.

josh cleared his throat, "guys. i'm fine. really. you don't have to, like, put me on some kind of watch or something."

"we know." kirin responded, looking over at josh.

"i, uh.. i should thank you, everybody, for having my back, you know? even when i didn't have my own, you know, back. i'm just.. i'm sorry."

"apology fiercely rejected." ivan said, "oh. okay. i'm sorry." josh apologized again. "josh, you are not the one who needs to be apologizing. you're the victim here."

"yeah josh, don't apologize. it wasn't your fault. you did nothing wrong." luna replied, her voice raspy from crying earlier. "right. yeah. that's great."

"no. honey, don't.. there's no stigma. it's your truth.. and now you need to own it.."

"what i need is to never fucking think about it again, and for everybody here to shut up about it.. forever! whether we get out of this place or not. i have been called all of the things.. pussy, chicken shit, little bitch.. and i'm so sick of it all that i could choke. and everyone is like, own it, just own it, like if you own it you'll be invisible or something. and that is just.. it's not how it works. at all. owning it means that you are it."

"okay, whatever you need, josh."

"for you to just never tell anyone.. please."

"i promise." kirin replied, everyone else promised as well even raf.

present!

"so luna what happened to you that day? no one seems to wanna talk about it. do you?" the woman asked.

luna didn't say anything, she just looked at the woman and suddenly it clicked.

"i remember you." luna stated.

"excuse me? i'm not sure i know what you're talking about."

"no, no. i do. i remember you. you're the woman my dad was talking to the night i was taken to the police station. you're the reason i'm fucking here." luna snapped, standing from her chair as she pointed towards the woman.

"luna, calm down please."

"you bitch. this your fucking fault. it's your fault that i was stuck on that fucking island. that i was almost.. — luna paused, stopping herself before she said to much.

"almost what, luna?"

"nothing. i'm not saying anything else until you let me talk to him."

"to kirin?"

"no. my father."
