Chapter 5

So I went to my study and continued to build the GPS tapes.

The next morning I was just about to make breakfast when Sophie came downstairs. She looked around. "Is she gone again?" she asked as she sat down at the table. She sounded slightly hurt. "She had to go. You're going to Pepper's today, you'll be there for the next few days. So please pack up with your sisters then," I answered her.

She looked at me questioningly. While she grabbed a glass. First I concentrated on the scrambled eggs before I answered her silent question: "We found a way to bring everyone back. So I'm going to spend the next few days at Avengers headquarters." She sat down again at the table.

Laélia and Lydia came down. "Can't we go?" Sophie asked me. I shook the scrambled eggs into a bowl. The twins looked at me. "Where to go? We want too!" They said at the same time. I threw a nasty look at Sophie, who got up and started setting the table.

"I'm going to Avengers headquarters with Uncle Tony. But you can't come with me. As long as I'm there, the three of you will stay with Aunt Pepper and Morgan." The two sat down in their seats and I put the scrambled eggs at the table.

"But Mom I can help. What if you need me?" Spohie asked again. I put something on the other two's plates. "No, after breakfast you pack your things for the next few days, get ready and then we'll drive straight to you. I didn't get an answer anymore, instead we all started eating.

The three of them came down the stairs just as I was putting away the dishes. "We're ready," said Sophie. "Great, go to the car then," I replied. The three ran out and I quickly drank something else. Then I ran to my office and got the box that contained everything we needed.

When I had everything I followed the three. Arriving at the car I opened the trunk and the kids got in. I put the box all the way to the back, in front of it I put the girls' bags. Then I closed the trunk again. I ran back to the house and locked it, I hadn't before because I had my hands full.

Back at the car, the three had already buckled themselves. I quickly got in and drove off. The twins started singing a Sokovian song I had taught them on the ride.

We stopped at Tony's house. While I was getting her things out of the trunk with the help of Sphie, the girls ran to the door and rang the bell. I closed the trunk and followed them. Pepper stood in the doorway.

"The girls are pretty excited," she greeted me. Smiling, I nodded and hugged her lightly and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She smiled. Then she followed me in. Tony and Morgan were still sitting at the table having breakfast.

However, as soon as Morgan saw the twins, she got up and ran towards them. "You're here. Now we can play and you can show me your powers and-" She was interrupted by her mother, "Morgan let her come first."

Meanwhile I had arrived at Tony's. I hugged him briefly too. "Morning Toney. I hope we're not too early?" I asked. Grinning, he answered me: "Don't worry. It looks like we've just finished breakfast anyway. Then we can both go right away. I'll just clear this away quickly.

With that he got up. Sophie just sat at the table with Pepper and talked to her. The twins were talking to Morgan. "So done, we can go," Tony said and I got a little startled. He grinned and went to Pepper. She was waiting at the door with Sophie. I said goodbye to Sophie and then to the twins.

Before we left, I turned back to the three of them. "Woe I got a call from Aunt Pepper that you used your powers, understood?!" I asked. All three nodded and hugged me again.

With that, Tony and I went together and got into his car because his car I quote 'drives a lot faster'. He drove off. "He looked at me briefly. "What do you think they've already tried something with Bruce," he asked. I couldn't help but grin. "Of course," I answered him. He gave me an 'really now' look before he said, "So that's what you think of Cap and the others?"

Shaking my head, I replied, "No, but it will be. Let's bet. I'll bet you twenty bucks they timed Lang or tried!" "Why Lang?" he asked without taking his eyes off the road. "Because Lang did his time jump before," I replied. "Okay the bet stands. But please don't say time jump."

We drove on without a word and soon the base could be seen. We pulled up and Steve was already there. Tony glanced at me before rolling down the window. "Let me guess he turned into a baby," I asked as I got out.

Steve sighed and looked up into the air. "Among other things" Grinning, I looked back into the car. "Ha! That makes twenty bucks Stark!"
