Natasha kept glancing back and forth between her food and me. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..."

2023 House of Isabella

Isabella POV:

I interrupted her. "Save it. We can talk about it if you really want to. But not at dinner and certainly not when my children are around." I particularly emphasized the 'my children'. After the sentence she looked at her plate and ate nothing more.

Tony gave me a short, stunned look, as did Steve. Tony because he knew it wasn't just my kids and Steve because he knew how much that sentence hurt her.

Sophie seemed to sense the tension between us both. After a few minutes, she asks: "Mom? Can I get up, I'm done." I looked at her from my plate. "Of course please put your plate next to the dishwasher." She nodded. "May we get up too?" asked Lydia. "Are you ready?" I looked back and forth between the two. Both nodded. "Then put your plates with Sophie's."

I turned to her. "Are you going to play outside with them?" Sophie nodded and followed the two who were already running out. Only now did I realize that everyone was still looking at me except Natasha.

"So what idea of bringing the others back are you here for?" Scot placed his silverware on the plate. "Time travel." I sighed and looked down at my hands. "The hardest option of all?" Steve opened his mouth and wanted to say something. But he was interrupted by Tony. "It's the only option left. We've already tried all the other options."

"As you have tried and say nothing.." I looked straight at him. "Right Scot. We've been asking for it for the last five years. We haven't told anyone because we a) want to protect the rest of you and b) don't want to make big noise if it doesn't work out. We gave it up four months ago. Because we had found a way that might work. But it's far too dangerous."

Scot looked at me and Tony expectantly. "Time travel." It came from Tony. "We knew it could be done, but it's far more likely to get lost along the way or to be blown to billions of shreds." Scott contradicted him. "But I made it. I survived." "No, you were lucky, nothing more." I contradicted him.

Now Steve also said something about it. "Does that mean with our help and enough time you could make it? Make it take us back in time and get the stones?" "Possibly" With that I got up and walked to my office, which was also my workshop. Tony ran right after me.

For a while we were alone in the room that I used. "Why Tony? Why are you bringing her here? I only asked one thing of you." I asked as I tapped a tablet to activate a hologram. "They came to me together. What should I have done but send some of them away. I brought her because she can help us. Natasha is not stupid and you know that." I looked straight at him.

"So you only brought her because she can help?" He looked away for a moment. "And maybe so you can talk." I heard footsteps behind me meaning the others were coming. I quickly grabbed a blueprint and threw Tony at him.

"Couldn't you have just told us to go with you?" It came from Steve who was now standing a bit next to me. "Nope" it came from me and steve at the same time. I had finally found the right hologram.

The model with the Möbius ribbon appeared on the table. "What's that?" Steve asked. "A Mobius loop," Natasha answered him. I nodded in agreement. Tony took control of the hologram. "We calculated time travel with her."

Scott stood next to him and studied the hologram closely. "We made time travel possible, we just need something to guide us through it. Otherwise we'll end up somewhere else than we actually want."

Scott now intervened. "Does that mean we need some kind of space-time GPS?" "Exactly." We all looked at each other. There was determination on everyone's face, but you could also see the fear. None of us knew if this would really work. If we survive this, we'd be lucky.

Steve looked at Tony and then at me. "How long do you need to build this?" Tony looked at me. I looked at Steve. "depends on how many. I mean we have to do it for the whole team?" Tony was now looking at Steve too. "Aren't we going to get the whole team?" Steve seemed to think for a moment. "We can try, but the team is scattered around the world or in space."

I thought for a moment. If we got all of them, we would have to work several hours. "When can we get everything?" Steve looked at Natasha. "Rhodey, Rocket and Nebula, Bruce maybe Clint and Thor." Natasha kept talking. "Okoye can't help us, she's taking care of Wakanda. We won't see Captain Marvel for a while, she's taking care of the other planets." "Then we would have eleven people," Tony said.

He looked at me. "How fast do you think we can fix that?" I stared into the hologram. "I don't know exactly. Eleven... I guess it takes me an hour or two for one." Tony nodded. Steve seemed to be thinking too. "Then we'll take care of the team, you do the GPS and then we'll meet at Avengers HQ tomorrow." Everyone nodded.

Steve and Scott left the room. I was typing on the hologram when I felt Natasha looking at me. I turned to her. "What?!" I asked harshly. She looked at me slightly hurt. "I want to talk," she said in a calm voice. Turning back to the hologram, I said, "Nice for you. But I don't want to talk to you."

"Isabella!" Tony asked, looking at me. I sigh briefly. Then I turned back to Natasha. "Fine, but can we wait until tonight when my kids-" I was cut off as Tony pitched the plan I had thrown at him earlier. I gave him a death glare for that.

"Can we wait until tonight for the kids to sleep? I don't want them to know?" It was all much more of a question. She nodded.

A scream was heard from outside. I quickly put the tablet down and ran out. Nat and Tony right behind me. Scott and Steve who were sitting in the living room followed us. Outside, Lydia kept floating down onto a huge sheet of paper.

I walked towards the children with quick steps. When they noticed me, the sheet became small again and Lydia fell to the ground. "Ow" I got angry. "Laélia Natalia Jones! What did I say to that! No powers!" She looked down.

The others stood next to me. Steve and Natasha right next to each other. Out of the corner of my eye I saw how shocked she looked when she said her birth name. Steve whispered to her, "Natalia? I thought-" That's all I understood as I turned my attention back to the children.
