The past week had contained too much travelling to make the two want to do any more trips in addition to the ones they needed to do anyways, despite the tempting idea of hiding out somewhere off-grid, just the two of them.

After Rory had helped Logan pack his most personal belongings, leaving the rest to packers, and they'd had them shipped to Odette's new house across the Atlantic, the two took a flight to Boston aiming to tell Christopher and Emily their news in person.

Logan was so proud of this and wanted to share the news with as many people as they trusted, and she felt like these two deserved to know in person, having been the two that had truly supported her in the past months.

Rory had already let Paris know by phone and her response had surprised Rory with it's neutrality and the way she'd expressed genuine respect for Logan for actually having taken the elaborate hoax path rather than the cowardice one. It was high praise coming from Paris.

It was just past noon when Rory rang the doorbell at her dad's house, red brick townhouse in Boston's South End. He'd moved closer to his work and to GiGi-s school so she'd have her independence. But as he was a changed man since his inheritage had kicked in - it was his housekeeper that answered the door.

"Hi, we're here to see Christopher, my dad," Rory began politely.

"Come right in," the housekeeper said, adding, "please wait for him in here, I'll get him," gesturing towards the formal living room to the right of the entrance.

The room was panelled with dark-wood, but the walls were painted white giving the room a pleasant contrast. It was an interesting combination of old and modern, golden light fixtures blending with more minimalistic furniture. Clearly her dad had paid the decorator a hefty sum.

"Hey, kiddo," Christopher emerged from down the hall, giving Rory a warm hug. His warmth and the casualness of his greeting didn't really match all of the rest - the house, the housekeeper nor the business casual attire.

Rory hadn't specified that she was bringing Logan along, not to mention what she wanted to talk about.

"Hi, dad! Great to see you," Rory replied.

"Logan? Hi! I didn't expect to see you! But it's great seeing you, it's been a while," Christopher exclaimed, looking at Rory a little confusedly.

They all took a seat, either on the couch or the armchair.

"Dad, we actually have some news," she said, feeling for some reason a little nervous, taking Logan's hand.

"Aha..," he commented, beginning to connect some of the dots.

"We actually got married. A little less than a week ago," Rory announced with a deep exhale. "I know you might have seen in the news somewhere that Logan just married Odette Aubert, but that was, is, just a pretence. The reasons behind it are somewhat complex, which we are happy to explain if you want," she continued.

"Wow, I don't even know what to say," Christopher exhaled.

"For now we are laying low for a few months, and this is why we are only telling the immediate family and friends," she spoke as if making a speech.

"So I guess, the place in Maine...," Christopher began, realizing he didn't need to finish his question.

"Yeah," Rory sighed.

"Well I have to say, I didn't expect this, but what am I to say...? You're both adults, as long as you are both happy about this development, then who am I to say anything? But you look happy and I wish you all the best," Christopher said, rising up form his seat to give them both another hug.
